Bupyeong buffet sushi, tacos and desserts: KuuKuu Gold

In short

KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch is a sushi and hot-food buffet beside Bupyeong Market Station in Bupyeong, Incheon. At a weekday lunch for ₩27,900, I ate everything from yukhoe-tangtangi gunkan sushi to tacos, crêpe cake, and bead ice cream. Verdict: a strong recommendation for KuuKuu Gold fans.

KuuKuu Gold right beside Bupyeong Market Station

As someone who realllllly loves KuuKuu, I went to KuuKuu in Bupyeong. Bupyeong wasn't originally a Gold location, but at some point it had been renovated into one. So good—and I hope Gyeyang becomes Gold soon too.

So shiny. I think I really like that particular buffet glow. It's right next to Bupyeong Market Station, just a two-minute walk away. I was late for my reservation and thought, oh no, I'm doomed—but what do you know, it was absurdly close haha.

I went for weekday lunch, so I paid ₩27,900. See the photos for the other prices.

Parking is totally doable. Little guests are welcome too ^8^

A food party and spacious seating

They were running a KuuKuu food party recently. A feast of seriously good-looking food. Let's eat, teehee.

The salad bar also had food names and allergy information.

They even had sanitary gloves.

The restaurant was seriously huge, and there was another whole seating section behind this one. KuuKuu usually limits dining time once there is a wait, but this place has so much seating and such a high capacity that it felt like people stayed past their time and the staff just let everyone eat comfortably. I liked that. At other places, I've literally been told to leave.

There is a kids' café too, so it would be great for families. There are seats right beside it, so adults can eat while keeping an eye on the kids.

From gunkan sushi to hot food

The most important thing: food. This is the gunkan sushi zone. I really love that distinct seaweed flavor in gunkan sushi (battleship-style sushi). I think I ate a lot of it.

There was yukhoe-tangtangi gunkan, with seasoned raw beef and chopped octopus, and it was ridiculously delicious. The cheese salmon roll? That little guy tasted like my favorite cheese salmon from Kura Sushi, which I loved. And one great thing about KuuKuu: there are different kinds of beef sushi. Even people who can't eat sushi might eat this.

There were salads, mulhoe (chilled raw-fish soup), and even soy-marinated raw crab, which caught me off guard.

A buffet truth: you can't resist familiar flavors. I should be eating sushi instead of these things, but it would feel wrong not to have them. Maybe because I went right at opening, everything was in such good condition, and this was delicious too.

Buffet food selection at opening time

The hot-food zone. I've seen places with lamb chops, but grilled oysters? I wondered if I'd seen that wrong. And there was mala xiang guo, of course.

They have cream pasta. Eating cream pasta with mala xiang guo made me feel like I was doing some YouTuber food combo, so I enjoyed it very much.

Maybe it was new this time, but there was a build-your-own taco station. Honestly, it was tastier than the tacos I had at VIPS last time. The ingredients also felt super fresh. I felt like I had walked into Subway.

The fruit and dessert zone

Fruit, yayyy. The mango was really good. And those tasty jellies on the very bottom shelf—I eat them every time I come to KuuKuu, and they make me full every time. But what can I do? They're delicious.

They had crêpe cake this time, and honestly, at places like this the crêpes can be super dense and the cream greasy. But this cake was so soft, and the chocolate cream was just right. I should have had two.

The fondue zone you would miss if it weren't there. There was a waffle zone too, and the staff made the waffles really deliciously, which was nice. Anyone who has been to Ashley knows how messy they can get there. I've loved KuuKuu waffles for ages, and these hit that nostalgic spot. Baskin-Robbins, step aside.

My beloved bead ice cream zone. Honestly, it's one of the biggest reasons I come to KuuKuu. Have the banana split twice.

A feast of ice cream, bingsu (shaved ice), and slushies. This area was called Igloo. Totally agreed.

There was juice too. Of course, there were sodas like cola, plus coffee, and the coffee machine even made lattes. The ice was really hard, perfect for making your own iced Americano. There was even a Hangang ramyeon zone.

From the first plate to dessert

The first plate has to be sushi. A person who knows you have to get jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles) really knows KuuKuu.

Hehe. Looking at that makes me want to go back.

Plate filled with assorted foods

A plate my friend put together. So dynamic.

Going in with the Ipjjalbeun Haetnim method: suddenly, dessert. It feels so guilty when you do this. Good haha.

I had waffles again. I also ate sooooo many of those tasty jellies. I ate a whole lot more besides this and left feeling like my stomach would burst.... Phew.

With prices so high these days, I honestly think a buffet that covers a meal, café visit, and dessert all at once is good value. You eat so much at a buffet that one meal is enough, right? As someone who likes KuuKuu Gold best among buffets, I strongly recommend this place.
