After finishing our Seoul trip and before taking the train, my daughter and I stopped by Furato Shokudo Seoul Square Direct Store (후라토식당 서울스퀘어 직영점). We shared one gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet), along with cold soba and fried dishes.

How do you order, and is it busy?

After sitting down, we checked the menu and ordered by QR code. It was convenient to choose our food without having to call a staff member.

Because it connects to the Seoul Station exit, there were many people coming and going nearby. The restaurant also had many customers, including people dining alone.

It felt busy, but it did not interfere with our meal. Our food came out quickly, and a staff member opened our drink for us.

How much was the gyukatsu, and how did we eat it?

The gyukatsu was ₩19,500. I had eaten this dish several times in Daegu, and chose it again because I like grilling the sirloin on a small brazier and its tender texture.

My daughter and I shared one gyukatsu while also having cold soba. It came with cabbage salad, pickles, and shredded ginger, plus three sauces. The meat sauce suited our taste best.

We ate one piece, then put the next on the brazier and turned it as we ate. Since we were sharing it, I thought we might have ordered more if there had been an extra-large portion.

How was the cold soba with gyukatsu?

The cold soba was ₩10,000, and I felt the portion was generous. It was a humid, hot day with intermittent rain, and the chilled broth was refreshing enough that we both drank it often.

Whenever I wanted something cool after eating warm, grilled gyukatsu, I drank the cold soba broth. Ordering different dishes and sharing them made it easy to alternate between them.

Were the extra fried dishes good for sharing?

The shrimp tempura and chicken karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) were ₩6,000. It worked well for the two of us to share two pieces each.

The chicken and shrimp tempura were crisp and had a nutty aroma. We ate them with the gyukatsu and finished everything we ordered.

How was it for a meal before taking the train?

This meal was the final stop on our Seoul trip with family. I was satisfied that we could have a filling meal before taking the train.

The staff were kind, and I especially liked how quickly the food came out. The original post says there can be a wait at lunch, but we had no wait when we stopped by before our train. Still, it is worth keeping in mind that this is a busy restaurant with many customers.
