Seogwipo seafood restaurant: braised cutlassfish set at Jejurowoon
In short
Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch is a seafood restaurant in Seogwipo, Jeju, where I had the A set with my children. The braised cutlassfish broth was balanced for my taste, and the children quickly ate the grilled tilefish; the restaurant also had high chairs and a table seating up to 10 people.

In Seongsan, Jeju, I went to Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원 성산일출봉점) with my children for braised cutlassfish. We ordered the A set, which included braised cutlassfish; I especially remembered the braising broth, while the children enjoyed the grilled tilefish.
What were the restaurant atmosphere and parking like?
The exterior was fairly ordinary. Even though we arrived around 1 p.m., there were many diners inside.

There was a parking lot behind the restaurant.
Is there seating for children and large families?
The interior felt clean overall. There was a table that could seat up to 10 people, so it seemed suitable for a large family meal, and high chairs were available.

What comes with the braised cutlassfish A set?
The menu was straightforward: choose a set and add any dishes you need. I ordered the A set, which included braised cutlassfish.

The A set came with braised cutlassfish, two grilled tilefish, sticky pot rice, soy-marinated crab, and sea urchin seaweed soup. There was also a varied selection of neatly presented side dishes, which went well with the meal.

I planned to serve the children the pot rice, seaweed soup, and grilled tilefish together.

How salty and spicy was the braised cutlassfish broth?
What I liked most about the braised cutlassfish was the broth. To my taste, it was neither overly salty nor spicy, but not bland either. I especially liked eating the cutlassfish and radish, then mixing rice into the broth.

The radish in the braise was tasty too, so I ate it with rice. The broth went well with the chewy sticky rice, and I kept reaching for it throughout the meal.

Did the children enjoy the grilled tilefish?
The grilled tilefish was crisp yet chewy. The children liked it more than I did and quickly finished the two fish that came with the set.

My second child, who was 13 months old at the time, also ate the grilled tilefish well. I considered ordering one more fish, but decided not to because I wanted to try other foods in Jeju too.

What were the soy-marinated crab and pot rice like?
While eating the braised cutlassfish and grilled tilefish, I also tried the soy-marinated crab. It was full of meat and well seasoned, making it a nice extra.

My family likes nurungji (scorched rice), so we tend to look forward to the final layer when we eat pot rice. The sticky rice was chewy, and we finished the meal by eating the nurungji stuck to the pot.

Were there any snacks to buy besides the meal?
The restaurant also sold snacks. After seeing the group ahead of us sample Udo peanut chewy taffy and buy several, I bought one too. It suited my taste as well.
