Bangi-dong Korean pub for dinner, buldak mayo raw shrimp: Wareureu
In short
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch (와르르맨숀 방이점) is a Korean pub serving full dishes, tucked inside the Bangi-dong food alley near Jamsil Station in Songpa, Seoul. With a friend who hadn't had dinner, the writer ordered happy-hour draft beer, 1++ Hanwoo beef tartare and brisket wraps, pollock roe and cheongyang chili cream pasta, and Sinan same-day raw shrimp, which stood out for its chewy texture, fried shrimp heads and buldak mayo sauce. Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is a good Bangi-dong pick when you want dinner and drinks in one place.

I was meeting a friend in Bangi-dong, and since neither of us had eaten dinner, I went looking for a bar where we could actually have a meal too. I heard about a place with tasty anisu (drinking snacks) and raw shrimp you can only get in limited quantities each day, so I went to check it out. This is my story about Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch (와르르맨숀 방이점), a Bangi-dong bar that works as a dinner-plus-drinks stop and is also nice for a casual second round, thanks to the wide variety of dishes.

Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch location and opening hours
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is at 11-8 Ogeum-ro 11-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, 2nd floor, Unit 201, about 461 m from Exit 10 of Jamsil Station. It is open Sunday to Thursday from 14:00 to 03:00 the next day, and Friday to Saturday from 14:00 to 04:00 the next day.

It sits deep inside the Bangi-dong food alley (먹자골목) near Jamsil Station, a Korean pub-style restaurant where you can order everything from proper meals to light dishes to go with a drink.

What are the atmosphere and seating like at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch?
The interior was clean and fairly spacious, and big windows let you see outside, so on a nice day it feels a bit like drinking outdoors. You get that street-stall (yajang) vibe while still staying comfortable indoors, which I liked.

Tables range from seats for two to group seating, so it suits any party size, and I heard you can book the whole place if you contact them in advance. I thought it would be fine for get-togethers with friends and for company dinners too.

I visited in autumn, and with the windows thrown wide open you could feel the cool season even indoors. It felt open rather than stuffy, a good place to spend time over a drink.

Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch menu and complimentary snack
The menu runs from light, dessert-like dishes to hearty meals. There's a wide choice of anisu and the prices didn't feel burdensome, so it's a good place to order lots of different things.

The complimentary side was macaroni tossed in sauce. It was seasoned just right, easy to keep picking at, and kind of addictive. One note: it seems refills cost extra from the second one.
₩100 happy-hour draft beer (350 ml)

The perk I liked most: if you come early, from daytime to early evening, there's a happy-hour event where you can get cold draft beer for ₩100. It isn't limited to one glass per table either, so if you plan to come early, you'll get even more out of it.
1++ Hanwoo beef tartare and brisket wraps

The two-star Hanwoo tartare and brisket wraps (투뿔한우육회차돌쌈, Korean beef tartare and thin-sliced brisket) caught my eye too. It looks like a nice choice for people who watch their protein while drinking, and for women on a diet who worry about what to order with alcohol.

The portion was generous and the tartare looked fresh, which I was happy with. It also came with sides like wasabi, pickled radish wraps and stir-fried kimchi, so you can mix and match to your taste.
Pollock roe and cheongyang chili cream pasta as a dinner dish

For my friend, who came without having dinner, I also ordered the pollock roe cheongyang cream pasta (명란청양크림파스타) as a meal. There was plenty of sauce, with a gentle spiciness from the cheongyang chili (a hot Korean pepper) so it wasn't heavy. The noodles were nicely cooked with a good texture, and there was plenty of bacon too. We enjoyed it.
How was the Sinan same-day raw shrimp at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch?
For the last dish I ordered the Sinan same-day raw shrimp (신안당일바리 생새우회), which I'd been looking forward to before the visit. Just like in other reviews I'd seen, the chewy texture was impressive, and the more you chewed, the more the nutty flavor of the shrimp came through.

Maybe because the shrimp is brought in from Sinan the same day, it tasted fresh. The shrimp heads were thoughtfully fried, so we got that crispy, nutty bite too, and it went really well with drinks.

It came with three sauces, so you can pick whichever you like. My friend and I especially loved the buldak mayo sauce (spicy fire-chicken-style mayo). Mixing and matching the raw shrimp with different sauces is fun, and I could see why there were so many good reviews.
Who should visit Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch?
Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is a Korean pub-style restaurant in the Bangi-dong food alley near Jamsil Station where you can enjoy a variety of anisu and meals together. The menu is generous, the prices are fairly easy on the wallet, and I was happy to try raw shrimp brought in from Sinan the same day, plus fried shrimp heads. The ₩100 draft beer happy hour is appealing too, and with the spacious, open interior and group bookings available, I think it works for dates as well as gatherings.
It's a good Bangi-dong bar to visit when you want a meal and drinks in one place, or when you're craving fresh raw shrimp.
