After keeping my hair almost black for about five years, I wanted to change it to a slightly lighter brown. At Moment Hair near Suraksan Station, I decided on mint brown to even out the patchiness from at-home coloring and cover my gray hairs as well.

How did the patchy hair and gray hairs change after coloring?
My hair fell below my chest. I had regularly colored my gray hairs black, but because I did it myself, the color had become patchy.

Quite some time had passed since my last coloring, so my natural light brown hair and gray hairs were mixed together and looked even more uneven. During the consultation, I was told that mint brown coloring could cover the gray hairs in between as well.

After the coloring, the overall tone was evened out. I was happy with the mint brown color showing in sunlight, and my overall impression felt brighter than before.

How did I book and park?
Moment Hair Suraksan Station Branch (모먼트헤어 수락산역점) is on the second floor at 1672 Dongil-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul. I booked a coloring appointment through Naver and visited on a relatively quiet weekday afternoon. Naver Pay was also available at the time of my visit.

I parked in front of a hardware store in the alley behind the building. The space was tight, so I had to ask for another car to be moved once, but it was moved right away and I was able to park nearby during my appointment. If you are driving, it would be best to allow extra time for parking.

Bright sunlight came into the salon.

How did the pre-color consultation and scalp protection work?
Before coloring, we talked thoroughly about my current hair concerns and the direction I wanted for the color. They explained in an easy-to-understand way not only the products being used, but also which products and care intervals would be good at home for the style I want going forward.

They first applied a protective product to prevent hair dye from staining my hairline.

They also applied a separate scalp-protection product.

The hair dye and scalp-protection product used were from Sasaki.

What were the mint brown color and process like?
The muted mint brown I chose had a different tone from a basic brown. It felt like the orange and red tones had been toned down, and to my eyes it looked softer than ash.

The dye was carefully applied throughout my hair.

While the color processed, I waited with coffee and cookies. The coloring and hair care together took about two hours.

Was I happy with the scalp care and finished color?
After the coloring, I also had a scalp massage and hair clinic treatment. The massage began by hand and continued with a machine scalp massage, which felt refreshing. Next, I received Water Punch care to rinse away the dye and dead skin cells, and the water pressure felt strong. In my case, no dye came off separately onto my scalp flakes afterward.

I usually like brown-toned clothes, so I deliberately dressed to match that day. The finished hair color went well with the clothes I normally wear.

I especially liked the color that showed when it caught the light. I was happy to make a small change from the black look I had kept for so long while evening out the patchy tone.
