The gowns were kept in individual packs, which felt neat and organized, and there were atmospheric phrases displayed around the salon.

There were two shampoo rooms. I felt they would be convenient even when there were many customers.

Information about membership passes and a points system was also displayed. I had a drink during the treatment, and when the glass was getting empty, they refilled it while I was having my shampoo without me needing to ask.

How did we choose a style while keeping my existing curls?

Before the treatment, my hair was frizzy, and I was unhappy with how it covered the sides of my face. Comparing the before and after, the biggest change was the flow from the bangs into the side hair.

When I booked, I chose this stylist because layered perms were their specialty. During the consultation, I said I wanted to trim only the messy lengths, keep the existing curls at the back, and add S-curls to the side hair flowing from the bangs.

After checking the condition of the remaining curls, the stylist explained how the cut, root perm, and side S-curls would be done. We decided to trim the bangs after the perm, so they first tidied the length of the back hair overall.

How were the root perm and side S-curls done?

After the cut, I had a shampoo and treatment. The process included steam along with moisture and nourishment, and the temperature was comfortable enough that I even fell asleep while lying there.

They wrapped the roots with an iron while setting the angle. The side hair was done with a setting perm, and while I waited for the heat treatment, I drank the tea they prepared and looked out the window. I liked that they explained what was needed based on my hair condition and the shape I wanted.

What made the private treatment room for one comfortable?

After that, I moved to a private treatment room for one. I received a protein and moisture treatment and a second steam treatment; compared with the first one, the warmer steam felt like it was surrounding my scalp and all of my hair.

I could also get a leg massage in the massage chair. Being able to rest alone while receiving the treatment made this the most comfortable space in the process.

How did the finished S-curls and styling look after a week?

During the final blow-dry, I also learned how to style my hair at home. The stylist showed me how to dry it while tipping it forward and then flip it back, as well as where to place the hair rollers and how long to leave them in.

The S-curls flowed naturally from the bangs into the side hair, giving me the side-face coverage I wanted. My face looked a little slimmer, and the style connected well with the remaining curls at the back. Perhaps because of the treatment, my hair also felt softer and shinier than before.

Even a week after the treatment, the volume around my crown was still there, making my morning styling easier. In my case, I was happy with the result of keeping my overall curls while tidying the sides and roots instead of changing all the curls.

During my visit, the salon was holding a timer game to celebrate its opening the previous September. The game involved pressing a button at a designated second, but I did not win. I still received a participation prize and enjoyed the small activity after finishing my treatment.
