Do you like naengsam (frozen pork belly)? How about samgyeopsal? I can't eat it.... because there's none left. haha
Naengsam, 150g for ₩9,900. At first I wondered how much you'd actually get. But after eating 4 servings of naengsam plus bibim noodles and Shin Ramyeon, I totally got why people pair naengsam with noodles.

How much is naengsam at Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch? 150g for 9,900 won
When you search for Sangbong Station pork belly spots, what you check first is always the meat and the price. At Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch, the menu lists frozen pork belly at 150g for ₩9,900. One catch: the first order has to be 3 servings or more.

We didn't hesitate and ordered 4 servings of naengsam. Unlike thick fresh pork belly, naengsam is thin, so it cooks fast. Instead of waiting forever for each piece, the fun of naengsam is grilling and eating right away. Especially when you're hungry, a long grilling time just makes you more exhausted. On that front, naengsam was definitely convenient. The 3-serving minimum was noted separately on the menu. Worth knowing before you go.

Grilling 4 servings of thin frozen pork belly
The naengsam at Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch isn't exactly a super special dish on its own — it's more about the combo. Rather than meat you eat once and stop, it's the kind you keep reaching for. Eaten hot right after grilling, the thin pork belly had that savory fatty flavor still alive, and the texture wasn't heavy at all.

When I eat naengsam, I tend not to grill too much at once, but put on just enough for the next bite. Thin meat cooks fast, so if you get greedy and load up the pan, it turns crispy-dry before you know it. Grilling a moderate amount quickly and eating right away suited my taste better. So would 4 servings of naengsam alone have been enough?

I actually think this is where the real meal begins. When the greasiness of naengsam starts building up, adding a noodle dish completely changes the flow of the meal. That's why we ordered bibim noodles alongside it.
Why bibim noodles are a must with naengsam
If you're eating naengsam at Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch, I'd eat it with bibim noodles.

After eating a good amount of meat, a greasy taste starts to linger in your mouth. That's when eating spicy, tangy bibim noodles alongside brings your appetite right back. Personally, my favorite combo was piling naengsam on top of a chopstick-full of noodles. Compared to just eating meat nonstop, the flavor direction shifts, so it doesn't get old as easily.

From ramyeon and Jjapaghetti to Buldak Bokkeum-myeon and bibim noodles! It was genuinely better with bibim noodles added than eating just 4 servings of naengsam~ Other ramyeon dishes have to be self-cooked in the machine like Hangang ramyeon (super convenient, haha), but the bibim noodles were cooked and brought over by the owner~ haha I guess it's because they need to be nice and cold to taste good!

The naengsam and bibim noodles combo is genuinely next level...
If you're like me and naengsam gets greasy fast, I recommend the bibim noodles combo.
Finishing the meal with hot Shin Ramyeon
Even after the bibim noodles, we also ordered Shin Ramyeon. Why eat two noodle dishes with meat, you ask?

The two play different roles. Bibim noodles reset your palate midway through the naengsam, while ramyeon felt more like the meal that fills you up at the end. After eating plenty of meat, a hot bite of broth was a great way to finish. Naengsam and bibim noodles is a spicy, savory combo, while Shin Ramyeon has broth too, so the final taste was completely different.

So if I had to give up one of the three, I'd be pretty torn. On a really hungry day, the combo of naengsam, bibim noodles, and ramyeon together was quite satisfying for me.
What the meal was actually like
People searching for Sangbong Station pork belly restaurants probably want to know three things. Is the meat price reasonable, can you eat until you're full, and is it worth coming back for. At Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch, the first thing that caught my eye was the menu price of ₩9,900 for 150g of naengsam. Like we did, adding bibim noodles and Shin Ramyeon to 4 servings of naengsam lets you enjoy meat and noodles all in one go.

This time I went with the naengsam and noodles combo, but next time it'd be nice to add a stew too. Above all, naengsam has that fun of casually grilling piece after piece and pairing it with noodles. If you've been looking for a naengsam spot in Sangbong, Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch is worth checking out.
Would I return to Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch? 100%
Next time, I'll order naengsam as a given and add bibim noodles again for sure. Compared to just eating meat, that chopstick-full of bibim noodles alongside it was the most memorable combo of this meal.
