Dog swimming pool café in Daegu: Daeng House & Bingsu King

One day, my elementary-school-aged daughter, who absolutely loves dogs, said she wanted to have one. Since it would be difficult for us to keep one at home, I looked for a dog café that we could visit even without bringing a pet, for my disappointed daughter!

• Parking: No dedicated parking. Public parking is paid on weekdays and free on weekends.

There is no separate parking lot, but you can use the paid public parking lot right in front of the shop. At ₩7,000 per day, it is quite affordable! Apparently, parking is free on weekends.

Can you enter without a dog?

When we opened the door to Daeng House, there was a safety gate. We changed into slippers and went in! As we opened the gate, a Welsh corgi came over to welcome us 🐶

Daeng House is a café that can be used even if you do not have a pet. We do not have a pet, so we visited with our child and without a dog~

How to use Daeng House & Bingsu King

• No admission fee
• Order one drink per person
• Dog admission: ₩5,000 for dogs under 6 kg / ₩7,000 for dogs 6 kg and over
• Pool dry room fee: ₩5,000

The space was larger than I expected, with a nice atmosphere, so it was a really good place to spend time with a dog. There were various sofa seats and tables, and the floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel open.

The dogs at the café loved people and greeted us with wagging tails. They freely hopped across the sofas, asking us to play with them.

Outdoor dog swimming pool and dry room

When you open the safety gate and head outside, another space appears.

Daeng House had a fairly large dog swimming pool in Daegu, with a standalone building and even an outdoor yard. The pool was quite large, and the water seemed well maintained.

A dog-only ground fountain 🐶 There was also a cute photo spot where you could take photos of your dog. For dogs that are afraid of water, it seemed nice that they could slowly get used to it in a shallow area rather than going straight into deep water.

There were even dog-only life jackets~ Every little item was adorably detailed.

There were seats around the pool for resting, plus shade canopies, so guardians could relax while their dogs played in the water. If you were not using the pool, dogs could also run freely in the outdoor yard.

A self-service dry room after swimming

This is the dry room. After swimming, dogs can be washed and dried here. The ₩5,000 fee is quite affordable! It is self-service, with shampoo and washing supplies provided. The waist-height faucet setup stood out because it makes bathing a dog comfortably much easier.

A three-floor total pet space

Once back inside, we could see the second floor. All three floors of Daeng House & Bingsu King were a total space for dogs.

• 2nd floor: play area / hotel / restroom
• 3rd floor: daycare / rooftop

The third-floor daycare and rooftop were not generally open to visitors; they were spaces for dogs using the daycare and the staff.

Up on the second floor, there was a play area. It was set up as a space where you could play with dogs while having drinks or a meal.

There was even a birthday-party photo zone, so it seems like a nice place to mark a special day. As I looked around Daeng House & Bingsu King, one thing was clear: this really is a space for dogs.

Puppy pads, water bowls, and more were thoughtfully provided throughout. I think that would make first-time visitors feel more comfortable too.

Café menu and the desserts we ordered

You could order directly at the counter, or use the kiosk for everything from ordering to payment.

It is one drink per person! The menu was varied, from coffee to ades. The bingsu (shaved ice dessert) was a suitable portion for two people. There was also bread to have as a snack.

Daeng House also had meals available, so you could come for brunch or dinner, and they sold alcohol too.

For dog snacks, there was chicken breast and meongpuccino, a dog-friendly cappuccino.

We also tried the Jolly Pong frappe, hallabong ade, and croffle.

Since it was a dog café, I was not expecting much from the drinks, but oh! They were delicious! Both the drinks and croffle were tasty, so you could visit not just as a guardian accompanying a dog, but simply for a delicious Daegu dessert café experience.

The café had an atmosphere where it was easy to become friendly with dogs brought by other customers. I was also impressed to see the owner’s dogs, along with dogs using the daycare and hotel, freely playing in the café while being cared for.

My daughter said she had such a wonderful time being around the adorable dogs to her heart’s content💕 The best part was being able to spend time with dogs while enjoying coffee and desserts!
