When you think of Daegu, you can’t leave out Seomun Market, right? 🥹💕 This time, I was looking around the market for tasty things to eat and wondering what to take home as souvenirs, when I noticed everyone carrying bags stuffed full of something 👀 It turned out that so many people were buying peanut bread as souvenirs! Of course I got curious too, so I stopped by Daesin Peanut Bread (대신땅콩빵) inside Seomun Market and packed up a bag 🥜✨

But this was a little different from the peanut bread we usually picture. It was real peanut bread, with whole peanuts dotted all through it! They were so generous with the peanuts that I could barely tell whether I was eating bread or grabbing a fistful of peanuts 😂 With so many nutty peanuts inside, it made such a good Daegu travel souvenir too.

Daesin Peanut Bread is located inside Seomun Market 😊 I heard mukbang YouTuber Heebab has visited too! Since it’s famous as an original peanut-bread spot, customers kept coming in the whole time we were there. Lots of people picked up one as they passed by, and there were also so many people, like us, packing bags to take as souvenirs. It was such a nice Seomun Market peanut bread to buy while exploring the market, whether for a snack or a gift 🥜

From peanut bread to peanut latte

Looking at the menu, it really was peanut heaven 😂🥜 They sold peanut bread, egg bread, roasted peanuts, peanut butter, and even peanut latte. Totally a bullseye for peanut lovers, haha.

They also sold roasted peanuts 🥜✨ A full doe was ₩10,000 and a half doe was ₩5,000; the portions were generous, and the peanuts themselves were so nutty. I tried one, and it was crisp with a deeply nutty flavor, haha.

There was also a chilled peanut latte smoothie 🥤🥜 The slush was ₩2,500 per cup, and it looked perfect for drinking right away while walking around the market on a hot day. It was refreshing, with a subtle signature nuttiness from the peanuts, so it felt different from an ordinary slush.

We tried a cup of the cold peanut latte smoothie too, and the sweet and nutty flavors went together so well 🥜🧊 Served cold, the peanuts’ nuttiness came through more softly, and it was nice to sip while wandering around the market. I think it would double the nuttiness alongside the peanut bread, haha.

Finally, I got to check out the main event: the peanut bread 🥜💕 Prices were ₩3,000 for 20, ₩6,000 for 45, and ₩10,000 for 80. The prices were easy on the wallet, and the owner even added a few extra as a service 🥹 They were also baking batches continuously so the peanut bread never ran out. With the smell of fresh peanut bread wafting through the air, there was no way I could just walk past!

They sold egg bread too 🥚💕 It was ₩2,000 for one, ₩5,500 for three, and ₩12,000 for seven. Peanut bread alone felt a bit incomplete, so we decided to try the egg bread as well. It seemed like it would be even better while warm, so we packed some up and took it right away 😊

How it’s made: whole peanuts go in first

The process of making the peanut bread was fun to watch too 👀 First, they generously filled the peanut-bread mold with roasted peanuts, then piped batter over them and baked it. Unlike typical peanut bread, they really put in loads of whole peanuts, haha.

They squeezed the batter over the peanuts from a piping bag, filling up the mold 🥜✨ Because the peanuts went in first and the batter followed, the peanuts stayed dotted throughout the bread after baking too. Seeing the process in person made me want to eat the truly fresh peanut bread immediately.

After a short wait, the peanut bread came out beautifully golden 🥹💛 The nutty peanut aroma kept rising as it baked, and it smelled delicious before I even tasted it. I also loved that the owner was baking continuously, so you could pack up warm bread straight away.

How the packed peanut bread and egg bread tasted

We bought 45 peanut breads for ₩6,000 and two egg breads for ₩4,000 🥜🥚 Before taking our big bag home, we ate a few right away. Fresh peanut bread straight from the market is always the best, right? Haha.

How to make them delicious again after packing

When you take peanut bread or egg bread home, it can get a little soft over time, right? 🥹 But they even had a revival method for making them tasty again! They say the most recommended method is an air fryer 👏 Give them a quick turn in the air fryer, or warm them in the microwave, and you can enjoy them warm and delicious again, just like at first. It’s a good tip to remember if you’re taking some away 💕

I tried the peanut bread first, and it was seriously so good 🥹🥜 When I looked inside, whole peanuts were dotted all through it! Bite into the soft bread and you get crisp, nutty peanuts; the nuttiness hit like I’d eaten a whole fistful of peanuts, haha. There were so many peanuts that their presence felt even bigger than the bread itself, and I was really satisfied. I could see why people were buying bags of it as souvenirs 🥰

I tried the egg bread too 🥚💕 It looked as though there was a whole egg inside, and the yolk was nicely cooked, so it was easy to eat. The bread was fluffy and mild, with the egg adding a savory nuttiness, making it an easy, satisfying snack. Eaten warm, the egg’s nuttiness came through even better, so it was just perfect for a snack 😊

If you’re visiting Daegu’s Seomun Market and wondering what snack or souvenir to buy, I think Daesin Peanut Bread is worth a stop 🥜💛 I thought it would be ordinary peanut bread, but the whole peanuts inside gave it a distinctly different nutty taste. The prices weren’t burdensome, and you can take away a generous bag, so it’s good for snacking and also nice to give family or friends as a gift 😊 Next time I’m at Seomun Market, I’m going to buy a whole box of peanut bread and enjoy it for ages, haha.
