Full-body massage in Junggye, Nowon before a night shift: The Hanoi
In short
The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori is a newly opened massage shop with private single rooms on the 3rd floor of Cheonggu Sangga (청구상가) in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul. A rotating three-shift worker and parent with sore shoulders and lower back had the 60-minute Relief Basic Care (back-side massage, warm stones and a foot pack) as an even full-body session before a night shift, and was comfortable enough to fall asleep snoring partway through. The Hanoi Foot & Body suits Nowon and Junggye locals who want to shake off fatigue before heading to work.

Where is The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori?
The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori (더하노이풋앤바디 중계은행사거리점) is on the 3rd floor of Cheongu Sangga, the complex with Homeplus in Junggye-dong, across from a Pilates studio and a taekwondo gym. Between shift work and raising kids, all that fatigue had started showing up in my shoulders and lower back, and then I heard a new massage shop had opened near my workplace, so I went to check it out!

Is parking at Cheongu Sangga free?
Parking at The Hanoi Foot & Body is free!! If you drove, be sure to tell the front desk after your session. I didn't bring my car so I didn't look at the lot closely, but besides the outdoor lot marked by arrows, it looked like there's an underground lot too~
What were the shop's atmosphere and private rooms like?
Even before going in, the shop looked bright and I had a feeling it would be clean and spacious, and it really was, so tidy that I loved it right away 😍

My room was lucky number 7 🍀🍀 Every room is a private single room with a massage bed.

Treatment clothes sizes and the locker
The note said to wear the treatment clothes loose, and the size range was huge, from L all the way up to 3XL!

The locker is electronic: press four digits and * to lock it.

Just like the tidy shop, the clothes were clean too ✨✨ The fabric was soft and smooth~~

How are the foot bath and tea served before the treatment?
Like a high-end Vietnamese spa, The Hanoi Foot & Body has a foot bath before the massage, and they set out warm tea and water while I soaked.

The tea was lightly sweet and clean with no dryness, so I took a photo. The foot bath felt like staring at water to zone out, haha. Then came the scrub, and the touch was so gentle! Oh, and since "Hanoi" is in the name I wondered if a Vietnamese therapist would treat me, but she was Korean ☺️
What is the order of the 60-minute Relief Basic Care?
The 60-minute Relief Basic Care (릴리프 베이직 케어) is a back-side massage + warm stones + foot pack. The same therapist who did my foot bath scrub continued with the treatment.

First, she rolled up a towel and put it under my ankles,

then spread cream on my feet and covered them with sock-like plastic. That's the foot pack.
Focus on sore spots or full body: which did I choose?
At the start she asked whether there was an area I wanted worked on. My left shoulder and lower back hurt enough that I had pain patches on, so I considered focusing there, but on night-shift days my whole body is screaming and nothing feels okay, so I asked for an even full-body session, and that was the right call!!
For the back-side massage I lay face down, and she worked evenly from my legs to my lower back, shoulders and even my fingers, then removed the foot pack and wiped my feet. Next she put a warm stone on my shoulder while working my lower back, and moved the stone to my lower back when she worked my shoulders. With the warm stone on, it felt like a heat pack or a sauna, and I could feel those areas loosening up, which was great 👍
Even though it was a back-side-only course, she had me turn over onto my back, put a warm stone on my abdomen, applied massage cream to my shoulders, and released the fascia in my shoulders and head. To finish, she did leg stretches and had me sit up to open up my shoulders and back, and I felt so refreshed, like I'd had a few days of proper rest!

How was it to go before a night shift?
See how messy my hair is, lol. I fell fast asleep in the middle of the treatment 😴😴 and woke up startled by the sound of my own snoring, haha. I thought, going before my night shift was such a good idea!!

After the treatment, I tidied up a bit in the powder room,

and I was ready for work 🙌 Thanks to it, I focused well on the job and got some energy back!
