A solo burger meal near Anguk Station: what is Jackjack Anguk like?
Jackjack Anguk is a handmade burger restaurant near Anguk Station. I went to see an exhibition in Anguk and was looking for something simple but filling, so I stopped by Jackjack. I like burgers in general, so I had my hopes up, and it turned out even better than I expected. A great find in Anguk.

It's also a burger brand from a chef who appeared on Culinary Class Wars (흑백요리사), which I found interesting, and the atmosphere is so relaxed that going alone feels totally fine. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a solo meal near Anguk Station.

Can you walk to Jackjack Anguk from Anguk Station?
Yes, Jackjack Anguk is within walking distance of Anguk Station. It's a good stop for a meal after Bukchon, Insa-dong or an exhibition around Anguk, so it works well for a date or a day out too.

The exterior looked clean from the start, and the place felt easy to drop into for lunch or dinner.

Kiosk ordering on the 1st floor, dining on the 2nd
Jackjack Anguk is split into an ordering area on the 1st floor and a dining area on the 2nd floor. The layout was a bit unusual.

Since you order at a kiosk, I could order comfortably on my own without feeling self-conscious. Best of all, from the 2nd-floor seats you can watch the burgers being made.

The kitchen seen from the 2nd floor: how was the hygiene?
The 2nd floor looks onto the kitchen, so you can naturally watch the staff grilling patties and prepping ingredients, and it's honestly quite fun to watch. Even at a popular restaurant you sometimes wonder what the kitchen is like, but at Jackjack the cooking area was impressively well kept.

The ingredients were neatly organized and the place felt hygienically run, which made me trust it even more. Watching the cooking while I waited made the time fly.
How does the Jackjack Utopia burger taste? A juicy beef patty
This time I ordered the Utopia set. It comes with a burger, fries and a drink, so it was plenty for a meal.
When the burger arrived, the fresh vegetables and thick beef patty stood out. From the first bite it was really juicy, and the patty had a lovely savory flavor.

The bun was soft too and let the patty and vegetables shine together. Overall I thought it was a well-balanced handmade burger.

I can see why so many people recommend it as a top burger place in Anguk.
Satisfying fries and special sauce too
The fries that come with the Utopia set were better than I expected.

The crispy fries are seasoned, so they're good on their own, and dipping them in the special sauce that comes with them gives them a different charm.

Plenty of places do a good burger, but not many get the sides right as well. Jackjack felt polished all around.
What to try next at Jackjack Anguk
I had the Utopia burger this time, but the menu has so many things I'm curious about, like the chicken burger Jackjack, the Double Jack and Jack the Mac.

It's not a place you try once and move on from; I want to work my way through the menu one item at a time. I especially want to try the signature items many people recommend on my next visit.
Verdict: is Jackjack Anguk a good burger restaurant near Anguk Station?
If you're looking for a good meal in Anguk, Jackjack was a very satisfying choice. It has an easy setup for eating alone, a clean restaurant, a cooking process you can watch from the 2nd floor, and tasty handmade burgers.
Getting to try a burger from a Culinary Class Wars chef was a fun bonus too, and watching it being made gave me real confidence in the food. If you're craving a good burger near Anguk Station, I'd recommend stopping by once.
