Our little one hasn't eaten meat out with us since she was born — the smoke always worried me. So it had been ages, but we finally headed out for some good steak at Rustic Smoke House Yongin Yangji Branch, known as a Yongin, Yangji favorite.

The weather was so nice it made the exterior look even prettier ✨ There was a big parking lot in front, but it was still quite full. This place is tucked in an out-of-the-way spot where you'd think you'd need a car to get to — seeing so many people find their way here confirmed it really is a Yongin, Yangji favorite.

Interior and a self-serve bar with snacks

The interior is so pretty — you could tell every little decoration was thought through.

Has anyone ever seen a self-serve bar this pretty..? This was a first for me.

Besides water and cutlery, the self-serve bar had snacks to nibble before the meal, and the kids loved it! Of course, the adults did too..💛 We grabbed a plate ourselves haha.

Couple set for two is ₩67,000 / family set for four is ₩105,000.

There are à la carte mains like the barbecue platter and steak platter, but since we wanted pasta too, we ordered the couple set for two. The couple set includes a choice of barbecue or steak platter, one pasta or rice, two drinks, and a house salad, plus a set discount — so it's a lot more food for a lot less.

You order at the kiosk and pay after the meal.

A photo zone that keeps the wait from getting boring

With steak, there's inevitably a bit of a wait for the food, right? But there are photo zones scattered around so we didn't get bored (snacking the whole time haha).

The antique-style photo zone was so pretty too! We got a photo of Dad and our little one here 📸 — it blended in so naturally I didn't even notice there was an air conditioner right next to it lol. Even the AC unit becomes part of the decor...

There was even a rocking chair, so we let our little one sit in it for a bit. They clearly put thought into every corner — it was fun just looking around the space.

The restroom is by the entrance, next to the bear photo zone. Men's and women's are separate and it was clean. If you're visiting with a baby under one, note there's no diaper-changing table or nursing room.

Couple set for two (upgraded to steak)

The couple set spread ✨ The steak platter — striploin 130g + flap steak 150g + pork neck 250g + grilled vegetables + 2 shrimp — was genuinely a lot of food. So many places these days serve just 100–150g per person, right? Rustic Smoke House gives you close to a full geun (about 600g) worth, so even the main alone felt generous. I'm so sad I didn't manage to film the steak sizzling when it arrived 😥 Let me walk you through each dish!

House salad

It came out with the drinks not long after ordering, which helped curb the hunger. The dressing wasn't too strong and paired well with the cheese — really tasty.

Toowoomba pasta

My husband's top pick — Toowoomba pasta‼ He loved how rich the cream was. I usually find cream sauces too heavy and prefer rosé, but this Toowoomba was delicious! Their special sauce must be the secret :)

Steak platter

Today's star, the steak..🤍 A lot of people find this place searching for steak in Cheoin-gu, and there's clearly a reason it's so well known. Even with the usual cuts — striploin, flap steak, pork neck — Rustic's own marinade made them so tender and delicious ㅠㅠ

We didn't specify a doneness level, but it came out around medium rare. It keeps cooking slowly over time, so if you like a softer texture, eat the steak first; if you prefer it more done, eat the pasta first and enjoy the steak afterward.

A rabbit family the kids love

We were in the middle of eating when... our baby started wanting to move around ㅜㅠ

She's gotten more curious lately and doesn't like sitting still — she wants to look around everywhere. I ate first while my husband played with her, but she kept squealing, so we stepped outside to look around. Thankfully, since there were lots of families with kids, nobody seemed bothered 🥹

There was a cluster of kids gathered around something, so we went to look — and there were adorable rabbits 🐰

Our little one watched the rabbits munching on grass lol. It was probably her first time seeing rabbits, and she couldn't take her eyes off them.

A touching bouquet to end the visit

After the meal, they gave us a bouquet as a gift for the baby..🌷 So sweet...

They even took a photo with our baby :) Eating out with a baby can sometimes feel a bit awkward (more trash, possible screaming...), but getting a gift for our little one right at the end made it a genuinely touching visit 🥹

Near Everland, and a great spot to bring a baby

It had been a while since we got to enjoy a little date-night feeling with my husband over good steak and pasta. It seemed like a mix of couples on dates and families with kids visiting. If you're looking for a good restaurant near Everland to bring your kid to...

It's a meat restaurant and it's literally called a smoke house lol, but we never once saw smoke during the whole meal! Even the air in the parking lot was clean?! I'd definitely recommend visiting Rustic Smoke House Yongin Yangji Branch!
