Seolleung Chinese restaurant with fried eggplant: Mirim Yangjang
In short
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is a Peking duck and Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurant a five-minute walk from Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Half a Peking duck costs 39,000 won, about the same as the writer paid on a trip to Shanghai, and the 16,000-won fried eggplant and Hong Kong-style egg noodles were just as good. With several private rooms and soft lighting, Mirim Yangjang works for a group dinner or a date, and it stays open into the early hours.

Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch
A Peking duck spot near Seolleung Station, just like Shanghai
Peking duck left such an impression on me in Shanghai! I heard there was a Peking duck spot near Seolleung Station, so I went to check it out — and Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch turned out to serve delicious Hong Kong-style dishes too, not just Beijing duck!
First off, the location is genuinely a 5-minute walk from Seolleung Station. If you walk a bit fast, you could get there even quicker.

I came to this Seolleung Station Chinese restaurant thinking it was just a Peking duck spot, but it turned out to serve Hong Kong-style dishes too. The interior overall had a red tone with a lot of atmosphere!

A great group dinner spot with private rooms, open until late night
In particular, there are several separate private rooms, so I thought this would be perfect for a group dinner! It seemed like a great atmosphere for a gathering, and since it's open until late at night, it seemed like a good place for good food with a drink.

This Chinese restaurant near Seolleung Station had an exotic atmosphere and soft lighting, so I thought it would also make a nice date spot. Since they serve Peking duck, the ducks caught my eye the moment I walked in. Toward the front, there were still-pale ducks that looked like they were currently being cooked.

Looking further inside, there were finished ducks hanging, in an appetizing brown color, so I zoomed in about 10x to take a photo. It's naturally close to the kitchen and far from the tables... but even zoomed in, it came out well. Such crispy-looking duck meat!

How to order and menu prices at Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch

I've listed the general menu items and prices below, based on Naver Place, but for the exact menu, please check the video menu board! Below are just the main items — the video menu has items that aren't listed here!
- Half Peking duck ₩39,000
- Fried eggplant ₩16,000
- Hong Kong-style egg noodles – review event item

Hong Kong-style egg noodles
These Hong Kong-style egg noodles were given to me as part of a review event at this Chinese restaurant near Seolleung Station! Ordered à la carte, it's 12,000 won, and it was fully worth it — a delicious dish!

Honestly, it was just stir-fried egg noodles with nothing particularly special about the look, so I didn't expect much — but it turned out to be delicious!

Fried eggplant, ₩16,000, generous portion
The crispy fried eggplant with a sweet and spicy sauce was such an appealing dish! The batter was thin and crispy, so even with a lot of batter clinging to it, it didn't feel heavy.

Also, maybe because the sauce was so good, it cut through the greasiness typical of fried food, and while I couldn't tell the size from photos, seeing it served made me think — wow, the portion is generous! The eggplant pieces... the big ones were about half the size of my palm, including my fingers.

It was a sauce that tasted both familiar and completely new to me — with bits of peanut mixed in, and I enjoyed it a lot. Let me just say upfront: everything I ordered at Mirim Yangjang was delicious, so if I visit again, I feel like I could order anything at random and it would all be good.

Half Peking duck for ₩39,000, similar price to Shanghai
Peking duck! It had been a while since I'd had Peking duck — not since my Shanghai trip last year. I never expected to have it again in Korea!! In Shanghai too, I paid in the 30,000-won range for half a duck, and at Mirim Yangjang I was able to get half a duck for 39,000 won as well.

Peking duck comes with its signature black sauce and vegetables, along with wheat pancakes so you can wrap it into little parcels! The pancakes come out warm, served in a steamer.

There's paper stuck between the layers of pancake more firmly than you'd expect, so be sure to peel it off carefully before eating!

Glossy, shiny Peking duck! It's been a while!! Peking duck is traditionally eaten for its skin, and that round part in the middle is the fattiest and most delicious part!

Wrapped up in the pancake with the vegetables that came alongside, I just kept eating more and more!!!! The lean meat was mild, and the skin was crispy and savory — it was delicious.

When would this be a good place to visit?
This seems like a great group dinner spot when you're tired of eating the same old menu every time, and also a good place to visit when you want something a bit more unusual for a date. I especially liked how soft the lighting and atmosphere were!
