Seongbok Station noodle spot, dinner with my husband: tteokbokki

In short

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is a noodle, Korean street-snack and pork cutlet restaurant on the ground floor of the Seohui Starhills building in Seongbok-dong, Suji-gu, Yongin. On a hungry evening the writer and her husband shared four dishes at Chilseong Jemyeonso: tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), pork cutlet, pan memil soba (chilled buckwheat noodles served on a tray) and a spicy hangover fresh-noodle soup cooked in a cauldron pot. The portions were generous enough for two. Verdict: with a wide menu and easy building parking, Chilseong Jemyeonso is a good Seongbok-dong pick when everyone wants something different.

Looking for a hearty dinner in Seongbok-dong

My husband works nearby in the evenings, and he'd heard about a local favorite close to his workplace, so we went to Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji. We were both a little hungry that day, so instead of a light bite we wanted a proper, filling meal!! I also hoped for a place with lots of options rather than one set menu +_+

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji has everything from Korean snack food (bunsik) to noodles to pork cutlet, so there's plenty to choose from! My husband likes noodles and I like sharing a bit of everything, so the menu suited us both.

No parking worries when driving

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji has building parking, so even though we came by car, parking was easy. When parking is hard you start worrying before you even leave, but here we could just go without stress!!

What's the evening atmosphere like?

When we got there in the evening, quite a lot of people were already eating. Before long the tables filled up quickly, which made me think this really is a place the neighborhood visits a lot. There were families, and lots of people who looked like they'd just come for a relaxed meal~!

Sitting down and looking at the menu, I was surprised by how many choices there were, and I deliberated for a long time. Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji has not only noodles but also snack dishes, pork cutlet and more, so I wanted to eat everything!!

Four dishes for two: tteokbokki, cutlet, pan memil soba and spicy noodle soup

That day at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji we ordered tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), pork cutlet, pan memil soba (buckwheat noodles served on a flat tray) and cauldron spicy hangover fresh noodle soup (gamasot eolkeunhaejang saengmyeon-guk)!! It was just my husband and me, but we were hungry and wanted to taste a bit of everything, so we ordered a lot. Each dish came in a generous portion, enough for two~ haha

How the pan memil soba and spicy noodle soup tasted

The pan memil soba had a clean, light taste that went well alongside the other dishes, and it's easy to eat even in hot weather~ If you like noodles, you'll probably be happy with how wide the choices are at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji!!

The cauldron spicy hangover fresh noodle soup was warm and spicy, just like its name, and really filling. Ordering several dishes and sharing bit by bit let us enjoy lots of flavors, and my husband said he ate until he was full. (Honestly, we ordered a lot.... hahaha)

Service and overall verdict

Above all, the atmosphere at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji was comfortable and the staff were friendly, so we felt good the whole time we were there. They also took care of what we needed when ordering, so we could eat comfortably.

When you look for a restaurant in Suji's Seongbok-dong, choosing a menu is often the hard part, but Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji has everything from snack food to noodles to pork cutlet, so it suits many different tastes. It's good as a meal for anyone from kids to adults, and fine for visiting as a family!!

If you're heading near Suji or looking for a restaurant in Seongbok-dong, take this as a reference for a place with a wide variety of dishes!! I recommend Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji +_+ !!
