What was the texture and how did I use HEEDA Charcoal Cleansing Balm?

When I opened the lid, I found a solid balm with a deep, genuine-charcoal color. The directions said that because it can melt from the warmth of your hands, it is best to scoop it out with the included spatula in summer. Even though I used my finger, it still scooped out smoothly.

After applying it to my face, I rolled it on gently, added water to emulsify it, then rolled more thoroughly for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
