With the weather so nice lately, my husband and I have been taking our laptops to big cafés around Uijeongbu: I write, and he studies for a certification, haha

Out of all the Uijeongbu cafés we've visited, today I'm introducing Forerest, a cake spot where you can really enjoy a forest getaway, as if you'd wandered into the woods!
Forerest in Uijeongbu: basic info
- Address: Nogyang-ro, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi (181 Nogyang-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea)
- Hours: daily 11:00–24:00 (2-hour limit on weekends and holidays)
- Parking: 60+ cars
- Dogs allowed, high chairs available

I actually knew Forerest, a big Uijeongbu café, from before this sponsored visit. My husband had found a place like a little cabin in the woods and asked me to come along, haha. The atmosphere was lovely and the cake was great, so I'd been thinking I had to write about it someday, and this time I got to visit again!
How to get to Forerest: parking and bus

Forerest has parking for 60+ cars, so it was easy to come by car even on the weekend. If you're taking public transport, take bus 8 from Ganeung Station or Uijeongbu Station and get off at the Ujeong Maeul stop!

Big cafés with forest views are usually on the outskirts, so they can be hard to reach without a car, right? I liked that you can get to Forerest by bus, haha.
A little further up from the entrance, outdoor tables are set around a pretty house. Surrounded by trees, it already felt like heading into the forest before we even reached the café.

Autumn walk and chestnut trees at Forerest
On a cool autumn day, Forerest was just right for some fresh air, and it really felt like a forest getaway, haha. There are lots of chestnut trees around, and it was fun to stroll and look at the fallen chestnuts. The round little nuts were so cute!

But the chestnut trees don't belong to the café, so you shouldn't pick up the chestnuts and take them home. I just looked and left them neatly to one side.
Best seats for working on a laptop at Forerest

Inside, Forerest has a warm, villa-like feel. The central hall has a terrace, nice for sipping coffee while looking at the forest, and further in there are several tastefully decorated rooms.

If you come with a group, the rooms looked great for sitting together and chatting. We needed our laptops that day, so we took a table in an inner room with outlets.
I've had a cold lately, so a fresh breeze is nice but I can't take cold wind for long, ugh. Being able to rest warmly indoors while writing and studying made this a good Uijeongbu café for people who bring laptops like us.
Forerest coffee and Basque cheesecake menu

Forerest blends specialty beans for a balanced coffee that pairs well with dessert! There's also decaf coffee and organic tea for people sensitive to caffeine, haha. The signature dessert is their house-made Basque cheesecake, aged 16 hours in the fridge.

Besides the plain Basque cheesecake there are flavors like chocolate and black sesame, and I noticed they can also make it gluten-free. Last time I had the black sesame Basque cheesecake and an iced americano, and the nutty, slightly bitter coffee was exactly my taste. This time I was curious about other items, so I ordered a little differently.

What we ordered this time, and prices
- Pink Relax ₩6,800
- Flat white ₩6,500
- Basque cheesecake ₩7,500
- Matcha Basque cheesecake ₩8,000

Pink Relax and a flat white on a cold day
First, the Pink Relax had a sweet lychee aroma with a subtle hint of chamomile. Caffeine felt like too much with my cold, so it suited me well. It was refreshing without being too sweet, great to drink cold. The flat white let the rich coffee flavor come through. It pairs nicely with dessert too, so if you like coffee, try ordering one alongside.

How does the plain Basque cheesecake taste?
And now the star of the day, the Basque cheesecake! It had a rich cheese flavor and a soft texture that melts in your mouth. It wasn't overly sweet, so it went really well with coffee, haha.

It's known as a top cake spot in Uijeongbu, and every other table seemed to have ordered at least one. This was the cake my husband ordered, but I think I ended up eating more of it, lol

Black sesame vs. matcha Basque cheesecake
If you like a dense, fudgy texture, I'd also recommend the black sesame and matcha Basque cheesecakes. The black sesame has a strong nutty flavor that hit my grandma-ish taste buds perfectly, and the bitter matcha left my mouth feeling clean after the cheesecake. All three have different charms, so it's fun to pick by your taste, haha.

Second visit to Forerest: how was it?

I thought the atmosphere was great on our first visit with my husband, and even on a return trip, Forerest, the big Uijeongbu café, still charms with the feeling of stepping into the forest.

It was a nice place to enjoy the autumn air outside and then rest indoors with coffee and cake. The Basque cheesecake especially goes well with nutty coffee, so if you're looking for a cake spot in Uijeongbu, I hope you'll try it, haha.

With plenty of parking and a good setup for spending time on a laptop, this is a big Uijeongbu café I'd go back to for a café date with my husband or a relaxed day off. If you want autumn forest views and delicious cake, stop by Forerest : )
