Car glass oil-film remover for rain visibility: AutoGrooming CleanView

Have you ever turned on the wipers on a rainy day, only to have water spread across the windshield like a smear and make your view feel frustratingly blocked? I heard that an oil film could be the cause, so I tried AutoGrooming CleanView oil-film remover.

Do you need to prepare a towel separately?

The oil-film remover came with a dedicated towel. As a car-wash beginner, I found it convenient that I could get started right away without buying a towel separately.

What order did I use it in, and how long did it take?

My process was simple. I thoroughly wet the glass, applied a suitable amount of oil-film remover, and wiped it with the included towel. Finally, I rinsed it with clean water.

It took about 10–15 minutes to do the windshield, side windows, and rear window. I remembered having to scrub hard when trying to remove oil film in the past, but this time I did not need to rub forcefully, so it felt much easier. It also did not feel like a big time commitment to add to a car wash.

What changes did I notice in the glass before and after?

At first, the water seemed to bead up and slide away. As I wiped, there were fewer beaded droplets, and it changed to a feeling of water clinging to and spreading across the glass surface. Once I finished, the glass looked clearer and I felt that visibility had improved, too.

About how many uses can you get from one bottle?

I did not need a large amount for one session. Judging by how much I used, I think it could last for at least three or four uses. That is not based on having actually used it that many times, though.

With this amount of use, I felt it would be decent value for money. However, I did not record the exact price, so it is difficult to compare it by cost.

Did I try it on a shower booth or mirrors, too?

I heard that it can be used not only on car glass but also on bathroom shower booths, mirrors, and windows. I plan to try it at home, but I have not used it there myself yet. The changes I noticed this time were from using it on car glass.

Was it easy to use as a car-wash beginner?

I have not compared several oil-film removers, but this one was easy to use because it included a towel and the work took little time. What stood out most was being able to wipe without putting in much force. For me, someone looking for a simple care product because rainy-day glass visibility felt frustrating, it was a satisfying experience.
