Car windshield oil-film remover test: AutoGrooming Clean View

In short

AutoGrooming Clean View is a 120g car windshield oil-film remover tested at a self-service car wash in Korea. After wiping and rinsing the front and rear windows, the treated areas looked clearer, though the unreachable center of the windshield stayed hazy. Verdict: an easy DIY clean with a reach-related limitation.

After it snowed, my car windows looked hazy, and even after a wash they did not feel properly clean, so I tried the AutoGrooming Clean View oil-film remover. I had bought another product too, but I used Clean View first. This is not a comparison between products; it is my experience of cleaning the front and rear windows myself.

What are the price, size, and contents?

As of January 28, 2026, when I wrote the original post, the product website was selling the 2+1 set for ₩19,800.

It contains 120g. It was introduced as enough for use on three or more cars. I did not actually try it on several cars, but I felt I did not need to use much when cleaning my own car.

The set was simple: the oil-film remover and a wide towel.

The bottle was not heavy and fit nicely in my hand, so it was easy to apply to the glass. The product also dispensed well.

How did I use it at the self-service car wash?

I went to a self-service car wash so I could apply and wipe the product, then rinse it thoroughly with water.

Because it had snowed, the windshield looked hazy. Even after washing the car, the glass had not felt clean.

First, I sprayed the front and rear windows with high-pressure water.

To see the before-and-after difference, I applied the oil-film remover to only one side of the windshield.

I wiped up and down with the towel five or six times. At first, I moved it as if spreading the product evenly across the glass, then scrubbed a little harder. Finally, I sprayed water on it to rinse.

How was it different from the side sprayed with water only?

The side treated with the oil-film remover felt cleaner than I expected. To my eyes, it looked as clear as the glass when I first got the car.

On the opposite side, where I had sprayed only water, droplets were beading here and there. The treated right side looked clearer and shinier.

However, I could not reach the center of the windshield. Looking at it head-on, both sides I had wiped were clear, but the middle remained hazy, so there was a visible difference. If, like me, it is hard to reach the center, I think it would be good to bring a long-handled cleaning tool.

How did it feel on the rear window, and how did I finish?

The rear window was dirty like the front one, so I cleaned it too.

I sprayed the oil-film remover on the rear window and wiped it with the towel.

I wiped the rear window about five or six times without needing much force. Having done it myself, the process was not complicated.

I was satisfied because the rear window felt cleaner too. After cleaning the side mirrors as well, I finished by using a separate water-repellent coating.

The original post described the product as suitable for exterior car glass and bathroom mirrors, with instructions not to use it inside a car. This time, I used it on the front and rear car windows and side mirrors.

I had put off removing the oil film because I was not sure I could do it alone, but the process of wiping and rinsing it myself was easier than I expected. It was a shame that I could not reach the middle, but I was happy with how much clearer the wiped areas looked.
