A ridiculously delicious Songdo spot for freshly baked salt bread

The cozy, warm “Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery”
Over the weekend, I heard a salt bread specialty bakery café had opened near the Songdo academy district, so my husband, daughter, and I went for a little morning neighborhood stroll:) I was only going to order one salt bread for a taste, but the smell and looks totally won me over—so here we go with my review after eating four~~🐻

Cozy Bear Café is in the Songdo 1-gonggu academy district, so it was really easy to get to! We came by car, but it looked fine to reach by bus too! It is also fairly close to the pediatric clinic my little one goes to, so next time it might be nice to come by bus with just my daughter, without my husband haha. Date time-🧡
Freshly baked salt bread, twice a day

Bread comes out at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

As soon as we got near the shop, that rich, nutty scent of freshly baked salt bread was wafting out from outside~~~~~🧡 Such a smell-berry moment—I want it as a diffuser at home~✨

True to being a salt bread specialty shop, Cozy Bear follows a bake-today, sell-today policy 🤍 They bake bread only twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. 🤍:)

They use top-quality ingredients generously, including French Président cultured butter, premium French flour, and Guérande sea salt.

They also say they do not use substitutes for fillings such as Korean red beans or potatoes; they boil them in-store to preserve the flavor of the original ingredients👍
Salt bread varieties and the 3+1 deal

Once inside, there were rows and rows of different salt breads~~😍😍😍 Starting with classic plain salt bread, there was potato, garlic, an-butter (red bean and butter), mugwort, pollock roe, castella, and more! Popular items can sell out early, so you have to grab them quick while they are there❤️🔥

Cozy Bear is currently running a 🥐salt bread 3+1 deal🐻 With so many kinds, it is easy to get choice paralysis, but this 3+1 event meant I could comfortably order four different tempting ones too👍💕

The shopping bag and packaging are soooo pretty too🧸🧡 With all the different flavors, I think it would be such a thoughtful, stylish gift to pick out a few of these!!!

There is also an event where you get a free iced tea for taking part in the Naver receipt-review event!
What we tried, from plain to castella
- Salt bread 3+1 set (plain, garlic, pollock roe, castella) ₩10,500
- Iced vanilla latte ₩5,000
- Premium strawberry milk ₩5,500

Cozy Bear uses coffee beans roasted with a national barista champion, and the vanilla latte includes house-made vanilla syrup! The latte’s nutty sweetness was such a perfect match with the salt bread🧡✨

The plain salt bread was crisp outside and chewy, moist inside—so delicious. It was chewy and nutty, with a soft, moist interior; when the basic one is this good, no need to even explain the others~_~ I packed up the garlic salt bread to eat at home, and wow, the garlic flavor was amazing✨ It would be sooo tasty with plain white milk as a meal substitute:)

The pollock roe salt bread combined salty-springy pollock roe with butter—delicious plus delicious, what else is there to say? It was packed with savory umami and a little spicy, so my husband really enjoyed it. The castella salt bread was coated generously with soft, sweet castella cake powder, and my daughter loved it so much she practically buried her face in it and inhaled it.

She ate sooo well—such a rare little vacuum-princess. It would be nice if she ate Mom’s meals this enthusiastically, wouldn’t it?

I tried the premium strawberry milk for Princess Elizabeth Daughter No. 2 too, and 🩷it was not artificially sweet!!!🩷 It was tangy-sweet and smooth, with really generous, delicious strawberry pieces!! If you are visiting with a child, I highly highly recommend ordering the strawberry latte❤️👧🏻🍓
A Songdo café I want to revisit with my child
My husband and daughter both ate so well, and there were so many varieties and such delicious drinks that next time we are passing nearby, I think I will get takeaway to give the kids as a snack after kindergarten! I am soooo happy to have found a new Songdo café with such delicious coffee and salt bread🥰

There is a terrace too, so when the weather is cool, it would be lovely to sit outside, relax with a laptop, and spend some daytime hours there! The shop is clean, the staff are all so kind, and the atmosphere is small but cozy, so I highly recommend it for a date, a light outing with a child, or dessert time before academy🧡
