Hôtel de Couture (오뗄드꾸뜨), a Western-style restaurant in Hongdae and Yeonnam-dong, has Naver booking, so you can lock in a table before you go. I figured it would be crowded, so I reserved on Naver first and went!!! Love that there's a reservation feature~~!!!

Hongdae has so many great restaurants and pretty cafés that I always struggle to decide where to go, haha. This time too I was searching around and ended up at Hôtel de Couture! These days good food matters, but I also care about the atmosphere and the feel of a space, so I was excited before even arriving ღ

Hôtel de Couture is at 387-19 Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Walk straight along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, turn just slightly, and you're there!! It is open 11:00 to 20:00, with last order at 19:00.

Hôtel de Couture is on the upper floor, and its big glass windows catch the light so nicely that it clearly looks like a good place at first glance.. haha

Is it good for a Hongdae date or meetup with friends?

Hôtel de Couture is well placed for a meal in the middle of a friend meetup or date. Hongdae is great for both, right! There's plenty to see around, so you can stroll the streets before or after eating, and it works well combined with other stops, haha

Every alley in Hongdae has a different mood, so hunting for new places is part of the fun☺️ If you're looking for somewhere new in Hongdae, Hôtel de Couture is worth a look!

Atmosphere inside Hôtel de Couture

Hôtel de Couture suits days when you want to chat with friends or have a relaxed meal. Wherever I go, I look closely at the overall atmosphere, not just the food, haha. Lots of places look pretty in photos these days, but how it actually feels in person matters too!

On days when you want to spend time chatting with friends or eat at a leisurely pace, the choice of place matters more than you'd think ღ If you have plans in Hongdae or want to try somewhere a bit different, finding a new spot is a small joy.

Jambon truffle cream risotto and lemon butter pasta: how was the food?

The best dish at Hôtel de Couture was the jambon truffle cream risotto, and the mortadella lemon butter pasta freshly cut through the risotto's richness. The steak wasn't tough either.

That thick, creamy rice? So yummy... haha. The mortadella lemon butter pasta felt like their own signature flavor? Unique, but light and tasty!! Since I was eating risotto, I ordered it worried things would get heavy, and the freshness did balance it out a little, hehe

The jambon truffle cream risotto is overwhelmingly delicious~~ And the steak isn't tough and tastes amazing too..

Hôtel de Couture gets five stars for taste, menu variety and friendliness, and four stars for location and price. It's a little far from the station, but it sits in a hot area at a reasonable distance and is easy to find!!

When you go hunting for good food, famous places are nice, but it feels even better to find one that suits you. Hongdae packs in so many restaurants and cafés that you can visit several in one trip! If you're spending time in Hongdae after a while, meeting friends, or planning a date, I recommend looking up places in advance☺️ Next time I'm in Hongdae, I want to keep discovering new restaurants and cozy spaces one by one!!
