Suwon Station lunch: bibim kalguksu and spicy octopus at Daseon
Daseon Kalguksu Main Branch is a long-running local noodle restaurant at the end of Rodeo Street near Suwon Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi, marked by its blue sign. Even arriving after the lunch rush there was a wait, and two diners shared bul-nakji-bokkeum (spicy stir-fried octopus) at 35,000 won and bibim kalguksu (spicy mixed hand-cut noodles) at 12,000 won, with a free refill of barley rice. The noodles at Daseon Kalguksu are good, but the plump, smoky octopus is what stays with you.
