Seoul sailing yacht experience with deck nets: Sailing Paradise

In short

Sailing Paradise is a private sailing yacht experience at Yeouido Han River Marina in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. I rode between the Golden Hour and Night Cruise for sunset, Seoul skyline views, and the sound of water from the deck net. Verdict: an unforgettable way to step out of everyday Seoul.

Looking for an unusual date idea in Seoul? Today, I’m going to vividly share my Sailing Paradise experience, where you can enjoy a sailing yacht right on the Han River. Can you believe you can get a mood that rivals the sea right in the middle of Seoul? I went in half doubtful myself, but it completely exceeded my expectations.

What is Sailing Paradise?

Sailing Paradise is a private sailing yacht experience based at Yeouido Han River Marina in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Its slogan is, “On the Han River, be the protagonist of a movie for just one day,” and that was exactly what it felt like. It is completely different from an ordinary sightseeing boat or cruise.

Wind-powered sailing yacht

You actually board a real sailing yacht that moves by wind power rather than an engine and slices through the Han River. Even the sight of several yachts moored at Yeouido Marina already felt far outside the everyday.

Reservations are essential and can be made through Naver Booking or by contacting the Kakao Channel. Be sure to confirm your booking before visiting, and check the weather in advance too. Sailing is weather-dependent, so a clear day makes for even fuller enjoyment of the night scenery.

From arriving at the marina to boarding

When you arrive at Yeouido Han River Marina, the first thing you see is the wide-open Han River view and the line of moored yachts. That sight alone made me feel completely removed from everyday life.

There were food and drink spaces and convenience facilities inside the marina as well. I also saw the life-jacket fitting area, and basic safety instructions are given before boarding. From the moment I walked along the blue floating walkway toward the moored yacht, I was already excited.

The dock had all kinds of vessels moored there, from swan-shaped pedal boats to small boats and Sailing Paradise’s yacht. Simply walking among them makes for lovely photos. I definitely recommend taking a wide shot of the marina!

Boarding the sailing yacht and setting off

Finally, time to board! Sailing Paradise’s yacht is a catamaran, with two hulls for excellent stability. Inside the cabin, the clean white interior had red flowers as an accent, creating a lovely atmosphere. The sofa cushions carried the SERAPHIM logo, and overall it felt luxurious.

After putting on a life jacket and stepping out onto the deck, the real sailing begins. You can sit or lie on the mesh net at the front of the deck, looking straight down at the Han River and feeling the sound of the waves firsthand. This was truly the highlight!

The moment the sail opened in the wind and the yacht began moving slowly, it really felt like a scene from a movie. With no engine noise, there was only wind and water—it was hard to believe I was in the middle of Seoul. The 63 Building appeared in the distance, and the Yeouido skyline unfolded like a panorama. It was so beautiful.

Golden-hour sunset and Seoul night views

I visited in the time slot between Golden Hour and the Night Cruise, and it was honestly perfect timing.

Right after we set off, a warm orange sunset began coloring the Han River. Watching the sunset from the deck was moving in a way that is hard to put into words. Seeing the sky gradually turn orange and pink while feeling the wind on a yacht was incredibly special.

Then, once the sun goes down, Seoul’s night scenery begins to unfold. The Han River bridges light up and shimmer in reflection on the water—it is truly dreamy. In particular, the view toward Wonhyo Bridge reflected on the water carried the same feeling even in photos. As the string lights on the yacht deck came on, the atmosphere became even more romantic.

On board, we were also given a snack in a cute blue package as a welcome snack. We were given wine too.

Going up on the deck was such a different experience too. They were small details, but they made the evening feel even more special.

I’m planning to bring guests here again ^^

Sailing Paradise information

  • Location: Yeouido Han River Marina, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (Sailing Paradise)
  • Reservations: Naver Booking / Kakao Channel inquiry required
  • Courses: Choose from the Golden Hour Cruise or Night Cruise
  • Note: An additional cost applies if you choose a private charter option

There are two main courses. You can choose between a cruise that lets you enjoy Golden Hour as the sun sets and a Night Cruise for Seoul’s night views. If you want to experience both, board when Golden Hour flows into the Night Cruise—you can enjoy both moods at once.

What to know before visiting

  • Check the weather: Sailing is heavily affected by wind and weather. Book a clear day with suitable wind for the best experience, and be sure to check the weather the day before or on the day of departure!
  • What to wear: The deck is much cooler and windier than land. Bring an outer layer even in summer. As you can see in the photos, we wore long sleeves too.
  • Shoes: It is best to avoid heeled shoes on a yacht. Slippers or sneakers are more comfortable and safer.
  • Life jackets: Wearing a life jacket is required on board. Even if it feels like a hassle, wear one for safety—and surprisingly, it can make a great photo moment!
  • Photo timing: Golden Hour at sunset is best for photos. Do not miss the time when the sky shifts through a gradient of colors.

This is possible in Seoul?

Sailing Paradise is definitely one of the standout unusual experiences you can have in Seoul. Feeling the wind on the Han River, watching the sunset, and taking in Seoul’s night views was something special that no fancy restaurant or café could compare with.

It was especially wonderful for a family outing with children too. Sitting side by side on the deck in life jackets, looking at the sunset over the open Han River, felt genuinely precious and special.

I strongly recommend Sailing Paradise for a date, a family outing, a birthday or anniversary, or whenever you want to get away from everyday life. It struck me all over again that an experience like this is possible in Seoul, and it naturally made me want to come back 😊
