Seoul Han River yacht tour for families: Sailing Paradise

In short

Sailing Paradise is a small-group yacht tour on the Han River in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. My parents, children, and I took the 1-hour Romantic Yacht Tour and were lucky enough to have the catamaran all to ourselves, with snacks and an August sunset. A relaxing Seoul activity that pleased every generation.

On this Seoul trip with my parents and kids, we made one special memory: a Seoul Han River yacht tour. Since we were traveling with children, I spent a while wondering where to go, then found a way to enjoy the Han River comfortably even in hot weather and booked Sailing Paradise. To give you the conclusion first, the kids loved it far more than I expected, and even my parents were happy with it, so I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience during a Seoul trip ‼️

Parking and the boarding declaration form

You’ll need to use the public parking lot. There’s no parking support ❌. We parked for over two hours and paid ₩4,500. That’s a pretty kind price.

There’s a large building right in front of the Han River. Head to the right side of the first floor, and you’ll find the Sailing Paradise office. You need to go there and fill out a boarding declaration form. Just one person can fill it out for the group.

We booked through Naver. [Romantic Yacht Tour: 1-hour experience ticket per person] I’ll tell you right away why we were so, so satisfied!

Waiting before the yacht tour departure

We were waiting for a moment at the meeting spot, past the duck boats, when the captain came over and surprised us. He asked, “We have beer and champagne ready—how many people will be drinking?” 🍺🥂 We had only known we were getting on a yacht, so hearing that drinks would be prepared separately had us excited before we even set off 😆 When he saw the kids, he said he would prepare juice for them too, but we gratefully declined because I didn’t think they would drink it. That kind of thoughtful care put us in a great mood before departure 🤍

Why the small group made it more relaxing for our family

What I especially want to recommend is Sailing Paradise’s 1-hour Romantic Yacht Tour ⛵️ The boat we boarded was the 12-seat Humin catamaran. It carries only a small number of people, yet the price difference from a group outing was not huge, which is why we booked it. And once we actually got on, the smaller group really did make it comfortable and relaxed‼️

But that day, we got lucky: only our family had booked, so we enjoyed a private yacht tour just for us! 👏 As a family with children, we could move around comfortably without worrying about other people, take as many photos as we wanted, and enjoy the Han River at a wonderfully unhurried pace. Running with a small group is a plus in itself, but if you are lucky like us, one family may get the yacht to themselves! If you’re looking for a special, private Han River yacht tour in Seoul, I really recommend the 1-hour Romantic Yacht Tour.

We were so excited that we took a commemorative photo as soon as we got on board. ✌️ Then, a little later, they set out not only champagne and beer but also cheese and biscuits, which touched us all over again. We had thought we were simply riding a yacht, but these simple refreshments really set the mood ✨ + Everyone put on a life jacket, and then we headed out to the front of the boat.

Plenty of space to enjoy on the Han River

Space at the front of the Han River yacht

The moment we went to the front of the boat, the whole family started with a chorus of admiration. Everyone was busy pulling out their phones to take pictures. There were two netted areas at the front, and the boat was roomy enough for 12 people, so the space felt truly generous. Since we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves as a family that day, it was even nicer to use all that space as we pleased. It was much easier to move around with the kids, too.

Seoul views and sunset from the yacht

Seoul seen from the Han River—seen from a yacht—felt completely different from usual. As we slowly took in the buildings, bridges, and scenery along the river, it felt like a real moment of healing in the middle of our trip. It was especially great for photos. The setting was lovely for taking pictures of the kids and preserving family photos, so we came away with wonderful Seoul travel memories. With a glass of chilled champagne, everyone in the family was enjoying the mood so much, saying, “Is this really Seoul?”

Han River yacht tour at sunset

Since it was midsummer in August, we booked 7 PM to match the sunset, and once the sky began to glow, the atmosphere was seriously incredible 🌅 It felt different from the sunsets I usually saw from outside the Han River. Looking at it from the water was so much more romantic. After riding at sunset once, I found myself wanting to do a Seoul night-view Han River yacht tour next time. The night scenery must be so beautiful too. (Human greed has no end.)

A huge thank-you to the captain, who explained things along the way and took such great group photos for us!!!

A Seoul itinerary that pleased both grandparents and children

Because this trip included both my parents and children, finding something everyone could enjoy was important. The best thing about this Seoul Han River yacht tour was that people of different generations could enjoy it together. The kids had fun riding the boat, my parents enjoyed the river views, and we got to look at Seoul at a relaxed pace for the first time in a while. More than anything, it was nice because the atmosphere was far more laid-back than rushing around crowded tourist spots.

Relaxing Han River yacht tour

When you travel to Seoul with children, it is not easy to keep going from one tourist attraction to another, so I loved that this Han River yacht experience let us sit back and enjoy the scenery. It was a different kind of fun from an itinerary of walking around all day with a stroller. If you are planning a Seoul trip with children like we were, I recommend fitting a Han River yacht experience into one day. It can be a fresh boat adventure for the kids and a brief break for the parents.

Final thoughts

  • A small group means you can enjoy it at an easy pace
  • A great Seoul travel activity with children
  • The romance of the Han River from the water is completely different
  • I recommend a sunset or night-view time slot
