I was looking for a nice place to have a casual dinner with a friend, and ended up at Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch (퍼그피자하우스 신림점) near Sillim Station. 😊

What events is Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch running?

When I visited, the Sillim Branch was running a takeout discount, a lunch-time dough sandwich discount and weekday 1+1 draft beer.

There are also value sets, dine-in point rewards and a review event, so keep those in mind if you're visiting!

What's the atmosphere like?

The Sillim Branch has the feel of an American pizza pub. The first thing you see when you walk in is a huge blue FURGPIZZA neon sign.

Wood-toned interiors, graffiti walls and warm lighting come together for that American pizza pub vibe.

There are baseball jerseys hanging on the wall, and cute puppy character stickers were set out too.

Is Pug Pizza House at Sillim Station dog-friendly?

Yes, the Sillim Branch is a pizza place where dogs are welcome. The 2nd floor is for regular guests, and the 3rd floor has separate seating for guests with dogs. 🐶 A place to eat pizza with your dog! Even a dog-only menu? That was another surprising thing about Pug Pizza House!

Yes, it's a pizza place that allows dogs. 🐾 Besides the regular seating on the 2nd floor, there's separate dog-friendly seating on the 3rd floor. And there's even an event giving out dog treats and a dog-only pizza! Hahaha

It could be a special place for anyone looking for somewhere to eat out with their dog. A pizza date with a puppy, just thinking about it is adorable! 🐶🍕

If you plan to bring your dog to the 3rd-floor seating, it's best to book on Naver in advance and check the conditions of use.

The menu and how to order

The pizzas come in 3 sizes. You can order at the kiosk, and there's table ordering too, which was convenient.

Ordering at the kiosk works, and with table ordering it was all very convenient. This time I came with a friend, so we ordered a half-and-half pizza and a pasta.

Pollock roe scallop shrimp + pepperoni half-and-half: enough for two?

For the half-and-half I chose the XR 11-inch size, between regular and large. It was just right for two people who also wanted pasta.

The best thing about half-and-half is, of course, getting two flavors on one pie!

The pollock roe scallop shrimp pizza

The pollock roe scallop shrimp pizza has shrimp and pollock roe toppings plus bonito flakes, green onion and crunchy snack bits, so it tasted a bit like takoyaki? Okonomiyaki? It was seriously delicious and I enjoyed it a lot.

Pepperoni pizza and the scorched-rice-like crust edge

On the other side, the pepperoni pizza was generously topped with thin-sliced pepperoni, and powdered cheese was sprinkled over the cheese, so it looked really appetizing.

The golden-baked edge of the crust was impressive too, with the cheese crisped like nurungji (scorched rice).

A small letdown: the pizza cutting

One small letdown was the cutting!? Personally, I think cutting it into 8 slices would make it easier for two people to share. A slice-grabbing mind game, hehe.

What's the spicy mushroom cream cheese pasta like?

The spicy mushroom cream cheese pasta at Pug Pizza House isn't an ordinary plated pasta. It came gratin-style, baked in the oven. In a white oven dish, the pasta was topped with roasted mushrooms, cheese and green onion.

The cream sauce was rich and thick, reminding me of a creamy soup. The mushroom topping added a nutty flavor, and eating it with the oven-baked cheese made it even more filling.

It's worth a look if you like cream pasta.

Oriental mini salad

When you're eating pizza and pasta, you start craving fresh vegetables, right?

The oriental mini salad that came with it had fresh leafy greens and tomatoes. It was a refreshing side between the rich cheese and cream sauce.

The self-bar: dipping pizza in truffle sauce

The Sillim Branch self-bar has cucumber pickles and 4 kinds of sauce. I picked the truffle sauce, and it went wonderfully with the pizza. The self-bar was one of my favorite things about Pug Pizza House!

With cucumber pickles and 4 kinds of sauce, you can take whatever suits your taste. Out of the four, the one I chose was the truffle sauce!

I dipped the pizza right into the truffle sauce, and this combo was honestly heavenly. ❤️ The signature truffle aroma let me enjoy the pizza in a whole new way.

What are the terms of the weekday 1+1 draft beer?

If you visit on a weekday, don't miss the weekday-only 1+1 draft beer. There were 2 draft beers, and per the kiosk notice at the time of my visit, if you order one beer you get one extra 330ml Budweiser draft.

The basic event price is ₩5,500! You get two glasses for the price of one, so it's great to visit with a friend.

Note that the event may change for some beers, so check before ordering.

Next time, I'd like to order a plate of fries, dip them in sauce and enjoy a cold beer.

Two flavors from a half-and-half pizza, rich cream pasta and a refreshing salad on the side made for a satisfying meal. The combo of dipping pizza in truffle sauce stuck with me.

With its hip yet comfortable atmosphere, it's a good place for dinner with a friend or pizza with a beer. And there's the weekday 1+1 draft beer too, so pizza-and-beer fans, take note!
