What kind of Thai restaurant is Golden Thai Kitchen?
Golden Thai Kitchen is said to recreate authentic Thai flavors based on the recipes of local Thai chefs with more than 20 years of experience at 5-star hotels in Thailand. They reportedly quantify the recipes to fine-tune the taste, which made me even more excited!
It's also known as a famous Thai spot on Songnidan-gil, so I'd been curious about it before visiting. haha
Golden Thai Kitchen's terrace and exotic chandelier interior
The exterior of Golden Thai Kitchen already feels exotic, so it catches your eye even as you walk past. It was a nice day when I visited, and some people were eating out on the terrace.

Eating Thai food outdoors in cool weather would really feel like being on a trip. 🌿

Good food plus this atmosphere would make mealtime even more special!

Inside, it was just as full of exotic charm.

From the chandeliers to the decor pieces scattered around, the interior looked carefully thought out in every detail, which was impressive.

Can you eat alone at Golden Thai Kitchen?
Visiting Golden Thai Kitchen alone didn't feel awkward at all, and I could focus on the delicious food. The atmosphere is a little different from an ordinary restaurant, so it felt like sitting in a local restaurant in Thailand. 😊
Relaxing over a meal by yourself in a place with such a nice vibe is its own kind of happiness, haha!

Golden Thai Kitchen menu: what I ordered and prices
- Shrimp pad thai ₩17,000
- Spring rolls, 4 pcs ₩8,000
I wanted to really enjoy proper Thai food, so I ordered Golden Thai Kitchen's signature popular dish, pad thai, along with spring rolls as a side. The tableware was neatly set too, so I got to start the meal in a good mood. haha

Golden Thai Kitchen spring rolls: crispy and piping hot
The spring rolls at Golden Thai Kitchen (4 pcs, ₩8,000) came out freshly fried, hot and crispy. I started with the spring rolls I'd ordered as an appetizer! haha

Spring rolls are vegetables, glass noodles and so on wrapped in rice paper and fried. Maybe because they were freshly fried, the hot, crispy texture was really great. 😍 Bite in and the outside is crunchy while inside you feel the texture of the vegetables and glass noodles, which was delicious.

Best of all, dipping them in the sauce they come with was pure heaven! They're great as a light starter before the meal, and just as good alongside a main dish.
Golden Thai Kitchen shrimp pad thai, loaded with shrimp
The shrimp pad thai at Golden Thai Kitchen (₩17,000) had a sweet, sour and spicy sauce soaked well into the noodles, with plump shrimp packed in. The main dish, pad thai! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I came on a recommendation for the pad thai, and I usually love Thai food anyway, so my expectations were high. 🥰 It looked mouthwatering, and I was happy to find it full of plump shrimp.

Pad thai is Thailand's signature stir-fried rice noodle dish, with thin rice noodles stir-fried in pad thai sauce. The noodles and various ingredients come together for a mix of textures. The first thing I noticed in my first bite was the savory depth of that sweet, sour and spicy sauce!

The sauce was soaked well into the noodles, so the flavor filled my mouth and really woke up my appetite. 🤤 The ingredients blended naturally, and with every bite of sauce-soaked noodles, the nuttiness of the ground peanuts and the sweet flavor of the sauce spread through my mouth.
I also liked that, true to a shrimp pad thai, it had plump shrimp. Eating the bouncy shrimp with the chewy noodles gave a different texture, so it felt even richer. And then the crunchy bean sprouts too, hahaha
The more I ate, the more charming the pad thai got! I could see why people recommend Golden Thai Kitchen's pad thai. hahaha With crispy spring rolls alongside the delicious pad thai, it felt like a proper full meal.👏
