Cheongdam hair salon cloud perm over straightened long hair: Park Jun

It's been 8 months since I did anything to my hair..😱 It just kept getting longer, so I went to a Gangnam hair salon, Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch (박준뷰티랩 청담점), for a trim and a perm! I heard that one of the many designers is a master of lovely perms, so I booked around that designer's schedule!

Right at Cheongdam Station Exit 7: outside and inside the salon

When you come out of Exit 7 of Cheongdam Station, there's a building right in front of you, and Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch is on the 3rd floor! You can tell at a glance it's a classy, spacious salon!

The cabinets use individual passcodes, so you don't have to worry about keys. Nice!

How does the cloud perm process work?

At Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch, I talked it through thoroughly with my designer and decided to just lightly trim the ends and get a cloud perm. The order was hair health check → cut → rolls and heat → shampoo and blow-dry.

Step 1. Hair health check

Hair health check-up! I've had scalp checks before, but I'd never seen a hair health check and it was so fascinating! In the second photo, the left one is very healthy hair and the right one is mine! She said the yellow is the protein inside the hair. Still, she said my hair isn't bad for long hair.

Step 2. Trimming only the ends of long hair

I got a light shampoo and the cut began! She trimmed only the damaged ends, then I waited a bit.

While waiting I had an iced Americano ☕️ The iced Americano here is good too!

Step 3. Rolling, heat setting, shampoo and blow-dry

She put in the rolls and applied heat, and I turned into Medusa..🐍

After waiting, I went to the shampoo station to finish up, then blow-dry!

Cloud perm on magic-straightened hair: strong or soft curls?

Since my hair had been through magic straightening once, my designer at Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch offered a choice: set the perm strong but a little frizzy, or set it softly. I picked the first, so there's a slight frizzy vibe, but these days that frizzy charm is in, right?

She showed me two ways to style it myself! One with your fingers and one with hairpins to hold the curls. Fingers look a bit prettier but aren't easy, so she also taught me the hairpin method. From now on I'll hold it with hairpins and style it nicely!

One more touching moment! She saw my phone charging from a power bank and immediately brought me a charger. I was so moved.

Oh! Another thing I liked: each designer has their own station, so you don't have to move around, and it felt comfortable.

Cloud perm before and after: how easy is next-day self-styling?

After the cloud perm at Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch, my very long, untidy ends turned into a much more playful look thanks to the trim and perm! I styled it myself the next day, and it was easier than expected and the curls came out even better. Very good!!

Maybe because it's a healthy perm, my hair didn't feel dry or anything afterward. I always worry about damage when I get a perm, so not having to worry thanks to the healthy perm was great. If you want a healthy perm, go find the designer for lovely perms at Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch!
