There is a public parking lot run by Suwon Urban Corporation just a 4-minute walk from BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung, so bringing a car is fine. I had planned to leave my car behind, but somehow I ended up having to drive 😮 Haenggung-dong is famous for being hard to park in, so I was worried, but the public lot was close by 👍🏻

The lot has 2 basement levels and 5 floors above ground, so there are lots of spaces, and it was surprisingly roomy 👍🏻

Since it's a public lot run by Suwon Urban Corporation, it's cheap, and being so close to BBQ Suwon Haenggung made it perfect 😊

BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung: exterior and café-style atmosphere

BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung is decorated like a café. They say BBQ branches are trending toward this café look these days, and I was so happy to see such a hot-spot-style place open in Haenggung-dong 😍💛❤️

They say this branch was set up to offer more than just a meal in Suwon's Haenggung-dong 🥹 It introduces itself as serving the crunch and deep flavor of chicken in its best form, built on carefully chosen ingredients and strict management standards ☺️💛

Seating for solo diners and big groups alike

The interior is comfortable enough to sit in alone without any pressure, and it also suits meals with friends or gatherings, set up so anyone can be happy whoever they come with 😍

The restaurant describes itself as one that earns trust with the same taste and service every time you visit, and the interior looked really clean, like somewhere I'd be happy to come anytime 🫨

The seats are neatly arranged, and it seems great for eating alone, as a pair, in a small group, or with a big crowd over a cold beer 🍺🫧

There was even a more private-feeling area like this 😎

The lighting inside is cozy and clean too, a place where you could chat away without noticing the time pass ☺️💛

There are big TV screens at the front and back of the restaurant, so it's a great spot to watch the World Cup together over chicken and beer.

There was also a giant drumstick cushion like this, which was fun to see 🍗🤣

What's on the menu at BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung?

There's a big menu board at the entrance, and each table has a tablet, so you can browse the menu and order from your seat. The menu board you see as soon as you walk in is huge, so you can take it all in at once.

BBQ's most famous Golden Olive Chicken, Soganshim (tenderloin), Hot Wings, Crispy, Crunch boneless crackers and more are all on offer, so it'd be great to come with a bunch of people and order lots of different things 😙😋

For each chicken you can choose boneless, combo (mixed cuts) and so on to suit your taste.

Besides plain fried and seasoned chicken, there's a wide range like Hot Golden Olive Black Pepper, Crunch Butter Chicken, Ppumchicking, Jamaica Sotteok Manna Chicken (with sausage and rice cake) and Spicy Seasoned Chicken 👍🏻 There were also lots of seasonings and sauces beyond the basic chicken ❤️

As a chicken place, the range of chicken is wide so you can pick what you like, and it would be especially fun to go with a big group and try everything 😋💛

There were rice dishes too, like the Whole Drumstick BBQ Chicken Rice. Chicken with rice, chibap, is a combo you can't skip 🍚😎

Snacks and sides for a second round, plus dessert

Besides chicken, BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung has muktae (dried pollock), nogari (dried baby pollock), golbaengi-muchim (spicy sea snail salad) and even canned yellow peaches, so you can order them while eating chicken, and it's also a perfect place for a second round 😍❤️

BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung has cheese balls like these too 🧀 And there's a wide range of fried items: shrimp sticks, Ogam balls, French fries, cheese sticks, tartar shrimp fries and fried chicken feet 🍤

Beyond chicken and snacks, there are all kinds of sides, so I'd have to keep coming back to try them one by one 😂🤣 Wow, amazing, they even have sherbet, which was just the best.

Drinks, alcohol and dipping sauces

Drinks range from Sparkling Lemon Boy to Zero Cola, Sprite, and Fanta in orange and pineapple 🫧

There's a wide range of alcohol too: draft beer, bottled beer, Kirin draft, Asahi draft, Chamisul, Chumchurum, Saero, Chungha and more, so you can choose to taste, which was great 😍❤️

There was also a variety of sauces and seasonings: Ppumchicking Seasoning, Black Pepper Seasoning, Red Chakchak Seasoning, Pine Mayo Sauce, Volcano Sauce and Sweet Chili Sauce 😋💛

On the tablet I ordered the Golden Olive half-and-half with a 1.25L Zero Cola.

Free macaroni puffs, pickled radish and sauces

At BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung, macaroni puffs (crispy puffed snacks) came out before the chicken. Maybe because it's a chicken place, even the puffs were really crunchy 😆

We had the chicken-essential pickled radish (chikin-mu) on the side too 😆 Three sauces for the fried chicken came out as well 😮

The Zero Cola came in a 1.25L plastic bottle, and while I was munching on the crispy macaroni puffs, the chicken arrived.

How did the BBQ Golden Olive half-and-half taste?

On the fried half of BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung's Golden Olive half-and-half, the crispy coating and tender chicken breast stood out, and on the seasoned half, the sweet-spicy sauce did. Wow, this chicken looked crunchy from the very first glance.

They say they carefully manage the condition of the Golden Olive oil used throughout cooking, keeping the taste clean and light with no gamey smell 🫒💚

BBQ says it believes the difference in taste comes from caring about what you can't see, and from the first bite, the crunch really let me feel that care 💥

The chicken breast wasn't dry at all, it was chewy and tender 🥹

They say many people drop by for a casual drink, enjoying cold draft beer with freshly fried chicken, and the moment I saw this chicken I understood right away 🥹💛💚

Dipping it in sauce like this is pure heaven 😋 It's also famous as a delivery favorite, and delivery orders kept coming in. Delivery or dining in, it seems good either way 😙💛❤️

The yangnyeom (sweet-spicy glazed) chicken half

Aww 😭 the sweet-as-honey seasoned chicken looked amazing from the start 🥰

The drumstick meat blended nicely with the slightly sweet-spicy sauce. It makes you want to eat it just by looking, and the taste was the best too 😍 BBQ Chicken Suwon Haenggung was a great place to eat alone as well.

The meat pulls off the bone smoothly along the grain 😙💛 It's a clean beer snack, a place for a light second round with draft beer 😋 The restaurant is also kept clean and pleasant, which was great.

I went with the regular Golden Olive half-and-half, but you can switch to combo or boneless to suit your taste ☺️💛

The inside was pleasant, spacious and clean, and the owner greeted us kindly, which I liked ☺️ The menu has a wide range of chicken, plus snacks like golbaengi-muchim, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), muktae and nogari, and all kinds of sides to taste as you like. Just the best 😙

It's a great place to come with all kinds of company: solo, friends, couples, family, or any group gathering 🥰❤️
