Shabu-shabu buffet in Cheomdan, Gwangju with rice paper rolls: Shabu20

It's already July! I hope lots of good things happen for you in the second half of the year. Today's place is a shabu-shabu buffet in Cheomdan District 2, Gwangju: Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan (샤브20 광주첨단점). I went after work with my friend from my favorite walking club, an older sister-figure from Seonun District who really knows her food~^^

Where is Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan, and what about parking and hours?

Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan is at 100 Cheomdanyeonsin-ro, Buk-gu, Gwangju (860 Sinyong-dong), in Daeseong Verhill Building A, 1st floor, units 104 to 107. For parking, you can use the Verhill outdoor lot and parking tower floors 1 to 7, about 200 spaces in all.

What are the prices and broth options at Shabu20?

Shabu20 is a place where you can eat unlimited beef and pork shabu-shabu (thinly sliced meat cooked in hot broth)~! The prices and broth types are posted outside, which I liked!

Onnuri, Bukkeu Money, Sangsaeng and high-oil-price support cards are all accepted~!

Special broths cost ₩1,000 extra each~! We picked the sukiyaki broth and the spicy broth, so ₩1,000 was added to our bill~!

What food is in the Shabu20 buffet?

The buffet has a wide variety of dishes, including LA galbi (marinated beef short ribs), chicken gangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken), takoyaki and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)!

There are plenty of vegetables for wrapping in rice paper, and a good variety of sauces for dipping your shabu-shabu!

Country of origin and allergy information is all posted too, so it's worth a look if you have allergies! You just take as much meat as you want to eat, and the water station for the rice paper is neatly kept! We brought back LA galbi and chicken gangjeong!

How do the sukiyaki broth shabu-shabu and rice paper rolls taste?

Here came the broths we picked at Shabu20. Spicy on the left, sukiyaki broth on the right! In went the vegetables~!

You worked so hard today too, sis~~! Have a drink!! haha The way you picked out those lettuce wraps so nicely, you're the best~~!

How does a meal at Shabu20 finish?

After the shabu-shabu you can cook porridge in the leftover broth, and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) refills are available too. I had porridge for dessert, but I think kalguksu would be great as well!

After a delicious meal I took a "bread selfie" too (a joke: the bread is my selfie)! Eating happily with my walking-club food-expert friend, the two of us ended up drinking 4 bottles of soju~! Draft beer is unlimited, but I'm not great with draft beer, haha, so I enjoyed the meal with tasty soju instead! I was glad my friend enjoyed it too!

There's coffee for dessert, and you can take ice cream to go or eat it at your table! We took our ice cream to go!

Who should go to Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan?

The food was good, so I'm planning to come back~! The staff were also so friendly, which I really liked. I think it would be good with your parents or with kids, and satisfying for a date, a gathering or a company dinner! If you're looking for a good shabu-shabu spot in Cheomdan District 2 or Sinyong-dong, I'd recommend Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan.
