My root dye was due, so I went looking for a good hair place near Sinchon Station and booked Demon Hair Sinchon Branch (데몬헤어 신촌점), known as a top spot for layered cuts in Sinchon!

Demon Hair Sinchon Branch is a 1-minute walk from Sinchon Station Exit 1, so access is really the best. It's almost right in front of you when you come out of the station, so even I, with my terrible sense of direction, found it without getting lost haha

With its floor-to-ceiling windows, the salon felt super bright and open. Upbeat songs were playing as background music, which somehow lifted my mood too lol

The counter has a sign saying, "This salon is a partnership salon of L'Oréal Group, the world's largest cosmetics company." With a title like that, I felt more confident about the product quality and skills, and reassured!

The first-visit discount and membership benefits are pretty good. I thought getting a membership would be a much better deal price-wise haha

You can pay with Zero Pay or Naver Pay, so you can go with just your phone and no wallet, which I liked! There's also cute candy set out for when your mouth gets bored, perfect for popping one in haha

There are phone chargers too, so no battery worries! Your battery drains fast at a salon, so this kind of thoughtful touch gets a thumbs up~

Heavily gray roots: the consultation at Demon Hair Sinchon Branch

At Demon Hair Sinchon Branch, I sat down and they checked my root condition first haha. So much black hair had grown in.. I'm supposed to dye regularly but kept putting it off because it's a hassle, so it was in pretty serious shape lol

After talking with the head stylist, we decided to do root dye and scalp-safe care together. Before the actual treatment, they pre-treated with an ampoule! It felt cool and like my scalp was being protected~ They explained that this ampoule isn't only for pre-treatment but also goes into the dye itself!

They also told me that doing protein care along with dyeing makes both perms and dye turn out pretty~!

Root dye applied by two stylists, one on each side

For the root dye, two designers applied it together from both sides, so it was very fast. I have a lot of gray hair for my age, and the head stylist looked at every corner and applied it very carefully haha. While the dye was on, they kept checking whether anything was uncomfortable, and I really appreciated the attention!

Natural shampoo and protein mask care

After applying the dye and letting it sit for a while, I moved to the shampoo room. The shampoo was so gentle, and having someone else wash your hair always feels great haha

They used a natural shampoo, and the scent wasn't harsh at all; it felt really mild on the scalp!!

After shampooing, they did a protein mask. They said it contains micropeptides that absorb quickly into the hair. They explained this ingredient closes the hair's cuticle layer, which helps the color last longer and makes the shine more vivid. It really felt like my hair was packed full of nutrition~

Curl blow-dry before meeting friends, finished with a layered-cut feel

Back at my seat, they finally started drying my hair~ I could tell as soon as they shook out the excess water. The color came out so well!! It blended perfectly with my previous hair color, right?!

Two people dried my hair too, so it finished much faster than usual.

When I said I had plans afterward, they did the blow-dry with extra care haha. They added curls with the trendy layered-cut style feel ♥

Root dye result: color under indoor lights and in natural light

The color under the indoor fluorescent light! So pretty! There's no patchiness at all, and the gray is completely covered. Thanks to the scalp-safe care I got along with it, my hair is also so soft that I keep touching it lol

Depending on the light it can look a bit darker, which gives it a subtle charm. Even better~

Once I stepped outside Demon Hair Sinchon Branch, the hair color and curls in natural light were so pretty too haha. Thanks to the head stylist's touch, my face tone looked much brighter and neater, and I was super satisfied! With my hair set so nicely, I went to my meetup in a great mood and even got compliments haha
