Gimpo Korean restaurant with free weekend parking, 2+1 sides: Bomseol
In short
Bomseol Gimpo is a Korean set-meal (hanjeongsik) restaurant on Geomdan-ro in Gimpo, Gyeonggi, now operating in the former Hansik Gonggan On space under a new name. The Bomseol Healthy Table at 18,000 won per person came with salad, healthy side dishes, stone-pot rice and cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), plus jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) and braised kodari (half-dried pollock); the self-serve bar's kimchi jjim and the evening 2+1 side-dish deal also stood out. With a large parking lot and a spacious dining room, Bomseol Gimpo is a safe choice in Gimpo for a meal with parents or a family gathering.

Is Bomseol Gimpo the same place as Hansik Gonggan On?
Yes. Bomseol Gimpo is a Korean set-meal restaurant on Geomdan-ro in Gimpo that used to run as Hansik Gonggan On (한식공간 온). The name changed to Bomseol recently, and it was operating under the Bomseol name in the same old spot haha.
Bomseol
Where is the parking entrance at Bomseol Gimpo?
For parking at Bomseol Gimpo, go in through the entrance with the church parking sign. Parking is free for 3 hours on weekends. The parking entrance was the one thing that tripped me up on my first visit.
When I passed by before, the building looked huge but the outer entrance seemed closed, so I wondered where on earth I was supposed to go lol. Looking around slowly, I found an entrance with a church parking sign, and it turned out to be a lot shared with Bomseol. You go in that way, and once I drove inside there was way more parking space than I expected.
If it's your first visit, you might get confused at the entrance like I did, so just head in the direction where you can see the church parking sign haha. Thanks to the 3 hours of free weekend parking, I didn't have to rush through the meal either. With big parking and a big dining room, it looked good for anyone looking for a family gathering or group meal.
Atmosphere and seating at Bomseol Gimpo
The inside of Bomseol Gimpo was clean and spacious overall, so it was easy to relax and eat haha. A family had come in as a group at the table next to us. The tables weren't cramped, and the layout makes it easy to seat bigger parties, so the mood suited a meal with parents or a get-together with lots of people.

How much is the Bomseol Healthy Table, and what comes with it?
The Bomseol Healthy Table (건강밥상) is ₩18,000 per person: salad, assorted healthy side dishes, stone-pot rice and cheonggukjang stew come as standard, with jeyuk bokkeum and braised codari as the mains. We agonized over the menu for a long time before ordering this one.
The menu described the sides as "assorted healthy side dishes," which basically means you get a good spread of Korean banchan (side dishes) like seasoned vegetables and kimchi haha. It seemed like a good fit for anyone who likes tasting lots of small dishes rather than one single main.

The table setting was neat too hahaha. They hand you spoons and chopsticks like this, so hygiene gets a big thumbs up from me!!!

While waiting, I saw pa bulgogi (scallion bulgogi) arrive generously at the next table. If you lean more toward meat, you could pick the pa bulgogi menu instead of the Healthy Table haha. If I go again, I'd like to try a menu that includes pa bulgogi.

The Bomseol Healthy Table, actually tasted
This is how the Bomseol Healthy Table arrives, everything at once, so generous~!

A full table~!

Both jeyuk bokkeum and braised codari
Since the Healthy Table comes with both jeyuk bokkeum and braised codari, you don't have to choose between meat and fish. You get to try both, which I liked.

My favorite was the tomato salad
The tomato salad dressing was so fresh and tangy, it was my favorite!

Cheonggukjang and sungnyung from the stone-pot rice
Cheonggukjang stew comes along too, so it's perfect for people who like a meal with some broth~
The rice comes in a stone pot, so you can eat it warm, and if you scoop the rice out and pour water in, you get sungnyung (scorched rice tea) at the end. Finishing a Korean spread with warm sungnyung is just so satisfying, right? haha
Self-serve bar and kimchi jjim at Bomseol Gimpo
Bomseol Gimpo also has a self-serve bar, so I could easily grab more of any side dish I ran short of.

They had kimchi jjim at the self-serve bar, so I brought a little, and the kimchi was well fermented and I kept reaching for more, more than I expected. At a Korean set-meal place, the mains matter, but the kimchi and basic side dishes need to be good for the whole meal to feel satisfying, right?

Side dishes for sale and the 2+1 evening deal
Bomseol Gimpo also sells side dishes separately, and when I visited, an opening event had a 2+1 deal on sides after 5 PM. It's said to be three side dishes for ₩10,000.
The kimchi I tried at the self-serve bar was good, so if I lived nearby, I thought it would be nice to take some sides home too haha. If you visit in the evening, it's worth browsing the side dish corner after your meal. The deal may vary depending on when you visit, so check once more on site haha.
Who is the Bomseol Healthy Table for?
The Bomseol Healthy Table felt less like a fancy course meal and more like a comfortable Korean spread of stone-pot rice and cheonggukjang with lots of side dishes. With so many dishes served at once, you don't need to order several items separately, and it was a safe choice to eat with older family members too.
Parking is easy and the dining room is big, so it's a good reference for anyone in Gimpo looking for a place to eat with parents or hold a family gathering. If you're a first-timer like me, you might panic for a moment at the parking entrance, but once you go inside there's plenty of space, so don't worry lol. If you knew Hansik Gonggan On, note that the name has changed to Bomseol. And if you're looking for a place in Gimpo to enjoy lots of Korean side dishes with stone-pot rice, give Bomseol Gimpo a look haha.
