Ichon forest-view brunch café: garlic sauce eggs Benedict at Mellang
In short
Mellang (카페멜랑) is a forest-view brunch café in the Ichon Hangang Mansion shopping arcade in Yongsan, Seoul. On a weekday afternoon visit, the writer sat by Mellang's floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the trees and had eggs Benedict (₩19,000), green onion cream pasta (₩19,000) and coffee; the croissant eggs Benedict with garlic sauce was the standout. Mellang suits anyone looking for a brunch café near the National Museum of Korea with parking and no break time.

What kind of brunch café is Mellang?
Mellang (카페멜랑) is a brunch café with big windows and a forest view in Ichon-dong, near the National Museum of Korea, and since it has no break time you can drop in whenever you like. I hadn't been in a while, so I went on a weekday afternoon. The coffee was good, the brunch dishes were good, and it was just the right place to spend a relaxed afternoon. I always love a café with big windows and greenery, and forest views are hard to find in Seoul, so a place with a great view and great food was a treat.

Getting to Mellang, hours and parking
Mellang is in the Ichon Hangang Mansion shopping arcade, about a 10-minute walk from Ichon Station. If you drive, park in the Hangang Mansion lot and take a parking ticket with you, as I was told. The whole walk is lined with trees, so even getting there is soothing, and it's easy to find from the main road, which was convenient!
- Closed every Monday
- Open 10:00-20:30, no break time
- Park in the Hangang Mansion lot and take a parking ticket
A brunch café in Seoul where you can park… that's precious!

Mellang also takes Naver reservations, and when the café is crowded the time limit is 2 hours.
What are Mellang's atmosphere and seating like?
The forest view gives Mellang a lovely mood, and the tables are wide and comfortable, haha. There are high chairs, so it's good for going with a baby, and it's also fine for a solo brunch. The restroom is inside, clean, and the hand soap smelled nice.

There are cute little items here and there around the café, and every corner feels tidy, which I liked. A brunch café needs good food, but the atmosphere really counts for a lot too.

Love a forest-view brunch café! The window seats at Mellang are really great, and the white walls go so well with the fresh green of the trees.

Mellang's menu and coffee
The menu has pasta, risotto, brunch plates, plus coffee, tea and desserts, and you order by QR code.

The coffee comes in a generous portion, which I liked. I dislike places that charge a lot for tiny coffees.

The café latte was nutty and tasty, and the iced Americano was cool and clean.

We ordered the green onion cream pasta and the eggs Benedict, and the portions were bigger than I expected and they looked so pretty. The National Museum of Korea and Yongsan Park are close by too, so it would make a good Ichon date course!

Mellang eggs Benedict (₩19,000): the garlic sauce is the killer point
The eggs Benedict at Mellang is ₩19,000, with arugula, bacon and a soft-cooked egg on a croissant. And the killer point was the garlic sauce. The sauce was seriously so good, T_T

You break the soft-cooked egg and eat it together, and the croissant is slightly salty, which made it even better. Most places do eggs Benedict on a muffin or bun, but at Mellang the croissant with the garlic sauce is a real killer point!!

Is Mellang's green onion cream pasta (₩19,000) heavy?
The green onion cream pasta at Mellang is ₩19,000, a cream pasta with mushrooms, bacon and green onion. We were told to mix everything together before eating.

The sauce wasn't heavy, more of a lightish cream pasta, which I enjoyed. The owner seems incredibly quick with their hands, because even with lots of customers the food came out really fast.
Who is Mellang recommended for?
Mellang has a great atmosphere and tasty food, so I recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet brunch café in Ichon. Even around 3-4 pm there were quite a few customers, so it seems like a hidden Ichon favorite that's well known by word of mouth.
- When you want to chat or just relax
- When you want tasty brunch at a forest-view brunch café
- When you're looking for an Ichon or Yongsan café with easy parking
Mellang is especially a great spot for eggs Benedict, so definitely order the eggs Benedict!
