Daeyeon Station Japanese eatery, butter yakiniku lunch: Misikga-ui
In short
Misikga-ui Udon (미식가의 우동) Daeyeon Direct Branch is a Japanese restaurant right outside Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station in Nam-gu, Busan. It serves meals by day and runs as an izakaya at night. On a solo weekday lunch, the writer grilled the 18,000-won yakiniku set in butter on a mini burner, with unlimited rice and curry refills and an Americano afterwards. Today I had lunch at Misikga-ui Udon (미식가의 우동) in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan. It turned out to be a really good place to eat alone.
Where is Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, and is there parking?
Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch is right in front of Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station on Busan Subway Line 2 (227 Suyeong-ro, 1st floor, Nam-gu, Busan). For parking, you can use the space behind the restaurant or the private lot at Busan Koryo Hospital across the street, I was told.

It's right at Daeyeon Station Exit 6, so access is great. Literally right under your nose~~~!

You can park behind the restaurant too,

or use the private lot at Busan Koryo Hospital across from the restaurant, they said.

- Hours: 11:00–22:00 (last order 21:00)
- Parking: behind the restaurant or at the Koryo Hospital lot
- Dongbaek-jeon cashback / high fuel price support funds accepted
Lunch hours: is there a break time?
Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch serves Japanese meals by day and runs as an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) at night. What stood out was that it operates with no break time.

Maybe because it was a weekday lunch, a lot of the customers were office workers, and meals generally went quickly! If there's a wait, there's also a seating area where you can sit and wait.

Solo-friendly seating for lunch in Daeyeon-dong
Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch has single-row seats that are great for solo diners. Many office workers eat alone at lunchtime here, so I felt even more comfortable too.
There are also table seats that suit families or bigger groups!

They apparently make their noodles in-house, and I could see sacks of flour piled up along one side of the restaurant.

Looking around the interior, there were commendations and certificates everywhere..!

Misikga-ui Udon lunch menu, refills and drink prices
The lunch menu at Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch includes the yakiniku set (grilled meat set), soba set, udon set, hamburg steak set, hamburg katsu set, tonkatsu (pork cutlet) and more. Rice and curry are unlimited refills, and soju and draft beer are ₩1,990 flat.

- Tonkatsu
With such a varied menu, it's good for coming alone and also looks fine for a lunch with coworkers!

I also noticed that soju and draft beer are a flat ₩1,990. Rice and curry come as unlimited refills, too. In these high-price times...! I thought that was a pretty great deal.
Other drinks include highballs, Horoyoi and so on~ Takeout was available too.

Every seat has salt, tonkatsu sauce, vitamins and water ready, and tissues and wet wipes are provided too, so it's easy to use.
How the ₩18,000 butter-grilled yakiniku set is served and eaten

The yakiniku set at Misikga-ui Udon is ₩18,000 and comes with yakiniku, steamed rice, curry, pickled radish, danmuji (yellow pickled radish), seasoned seaweed, salad and more, plus a mini burner for grilling the meat yourself. It was busy, so I thought it would take a long time to get ready, but it came out faster than expected.

Before putting the meat on, you swipe the grill with butter once, then start grilling in earnest! The meat was in better shape than I expected.
If you put it on a little at a time, it's not hard to grill at all! Honestly, eating meat alone isn't easy.. so I kept thinking this is a really good setup-

Dip it in salt, wasabi or sauce, whichever you like.

Curry and rice refills, plus an after-meal Americano
With the yakiniku set, it's good to fill up on the meat first and then eat rice with the unlimited curry. Fill up on meat, then rice with curry!

Just the curry on its own was tasty too, I could polish off a whole bowl of rice...

They even had coffee ready for after the meal. An Americano, the lifeblood of office workers, is right there!!!

After a hearty lunch like this, I had plenty of energy for the afternoon. If you're looking for a place for lunch or a solo meal in Daeyeon-dong, Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch is worth a visit.
