A Jukbaek-dong hotspot, a Sosabeol hotspot, a Pyeongtaek hotspot. My husband and I love cockles, so when we heard there was a fresh cockle specialist restaurant in Pyeongtaek, we made a drive out of it!! It took about 40 minutes from Yongin, and this Jukbaek-dong spot turned out to be so worth the trip, haha.
Where is Kkomak Manse, and what are its hours and parking?
Kkomak Manse is a fresh cockle specialist restaurant at 1728 Manse-ro, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are Mon–Sat 11am–10pm and Sun 11am–9pm, with a weekday break time from 3pm to 4:30pm. They have a large parking lot, and when it's full, staff handle double parking and valet.

This Sosabeol favorite, Kkomak Manse, sits on Manse-ro! It's an area packed with Pyeongtaek restaurants, but this one stands out with its own standalone building and spacious parking, making it a popular spot for gatherings too. The menu lineup is solid, the staff are super kind, and the meal never leaves you wanting — no wonder people keep coming back.

I've been to plenty of restaurants selling cockles, but after eating at Kkomak Manse I thought, wow, this is a real fresh cockle spot. The cockle meat is genuinely plump, and their boiling technique and seasoning are so good that it's clear why people flock here.

How long is the weekend lunch wait at Kkomak Manse?
We reserved through Naver before visiting, and around noon on the weekend the place was already full with a waitlist starting. If you're planning a group gathering or meetup, I'd definitely recommend booking ahead~ There were plenty of families dining too!!

The place was packed when I visited so I couldn't get photos of the whole interior, but the seats are spaced generously and there are plenty of tables, making it a good Pyeongtaek spot for group dinners too. There are baby chairs and a microwave at the self-bar, so it was great to visit with a baby!

Self-serve bar and take-home containers at Kkomak Manse
Kkomak Manse's self-bar is run cleanly, and the basic side dishes are brought to your table. Water is self-serve~

One thing that made me feel like nothing was missing: they'd set out self-serve to-go containers right near the seats, making it easy to pack up leftovers. No need to ask staff to pack it for you — the self-packing station even had utensils neatly stocked. I thought, this is a restaurant that really prepares well for its guests!

What comes with the 52,000 won family set?
We ordered the family set, which comes with seasoned cockles, cockle bibimbap, and cockle pancake for 52,000 won. Order via tablet and the side dishes get brought to your table. Fish cake soup comes as a default, which was nice to nibble on while waiting.

The tofu kimchi side dish was tasty too, and having sides prepared to pair well with cockles put me in a good mood!! By the time we finished the fish cake soup and got the baby fed, the main dishes arrived quickly.

Seasoned cockles with flying fish roe, seaweed, and perilla leaf wraps
The family set at this Sosabeol favorite, Kkomak Manse!! Truly plump cockles topped with savory, flavorful seasoning. They serve it with flying fish roe, seaweed, and perilla leaves for wrapping, and eating it that way was genuinely delicious. The kind of flavor that keeps your chopsticks coming back. They also sell dongdongju (Korean rice wine), so it'd be perfect as a drinking snack too, haha.

The seasoned cockles and cockle pancake paired well together too~ The pancake is generously packed with cockles, so it's a dish kids can enjoy well.
Looking at these photos again makes my mouth water... My husband is obsessed with cockles, which is why I brought him to this Pyeongtaek spot, and he was truly satisfied..! He loves flying fish roe too, and was scooping it up with a spoon, haha.

Cockles plus flying fish roe seems to be a surprisingly great combo! There were cockles neatly laid underneath the seasoning too, which made it fun to dig through. They must only use quality cockles because the color was genuinely gorgeous. People say deshelling cockles is a hassle, but here everything is already prepped so you can dig in right away~

Cockle pancake dipped in onion soy sauce
Kkomak Manse's cockle pancake is meant to be dipped in the onion soy sauce served alongside, and eating the onion together added an even better crunchy texture. Every single menu item at Kkomak Manse felt like it had been carefully thought out and developed!

I'd genuinely recommend this Sosabeol favorite to anyone who loves cockles.. you don't have to drive all the way to Gangneung for cockles. Truly high-quality cockles are all right here~
We had a proper cockle party at Kkomak Manse!! I understood exactly why it fills up and gets a waitlist,, most people seemed to order the cockle bibimbap during lunch, but I'd genuinely recommend the seasoned cockles..!

Cockle bibimbap: spicy sauce or soy sauce?
Of course, the cockle bibimbap was delicious too. You can choose between seasoned sauce or soy sauce, and the soy sauce version was also popular~

For the seasoned cockles, top with the sauce, cockles, and flying fish roe, then wrap it in perilla leaf and seaweed! There's a review event running too, and the reviews are so good that I'd want to come back again to Kkomak Manse. Of all the Boseong-style cockle restaurants I've been to, this was the best one.

You can enjoy dessert after the meal, and there's phone charging available too! It really felt like a place that had thought of everything for its guests, which made it so nice to visit with a baby — a Pyeongtaek restaurant. We've already decided to come back here next time we're in Pyeongtaek!!
