Sinyongsan chicken restaurant for group dinners in Seoul: Yongsantori
In short
Yongsantori (용산토리) is a Korean chicken restaurant on Hangang-daero 38ga-gil near Sinyongsan Station in Yongsan, Seoul, known for dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) and fried chicken. The order was the myeongin bone dakdoritang plus a half fried, half seasoned boneless chicken and a bowl of rice, so spicy broth and crisp chicken arrived at the same wide wooden table, the kind that fills up with work dinners and group parties. For a Sinyongsan get-together where nobody wants to choose between chicken and stew, Yongsantori settles it in one visit.

If you're looking for a Sinyongsan spot for a group chicken dinner, stop searching — Yongsantori Chicken is it. When you want chicken but also crave a spicy broth, this is the place. You can enjoy boneless fried chicken and dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) all in one meal, so it's a totally solid pick for a Sinyongsan group gathering!
I had both the dakdoritang and the boneless chicken, and honestly both were so good I'm already planning to come back next time I want chicken in Yongsan!
Where is Yongsantori, and what are the outdoor tables like?
Yongsantori Chicken is on the 1st floor at 7-18 Hangang-daero 38ga-gil, Yongsan-gu, close to Sinyongsan Station. The sign stands out right away, easy to spot even from a distance.

There are outdoor tables too, so on a nice day it's perfect for a drink outside! The yajang (outdoor drinking spot) vibe here is really great haha. Once fall comes and it gets cooler, this will be the perfect Yongsan spot for outdoor drinks.

Inside Yongsantori: seating for work dinners and group parties
Step inside and the wide wooden tables make it obvious this is a great spot for a group gathering. Sure enough, lots of people were there for company dinners and meetups!

Seeing the phrase "serious about chicken" on the wall by the kitchen got me even more excited. Felt like a place that lives up to its name.

Yongsantori's menu and what we ordered
True to its reputation as a Sinyongsan spot for group chicken dinners, Yongsantori offers a wide variety of chicken dishes, so it's genuinely fun to choose. No need to overthink it — we went with the myeongin bone dakdoritang and the fried/seasoned half-and-half boneless chicken, plus a solid bowl of rice to go with it!

The basic side dishes that come out first. If you run low, you can easily grab more from the self-serve bar! Clean, simple banchan that pair perfectly with chicken and dakdoritang.

What does the myeongin bone dakdoritang taste like?
First up, the myeongin bone dakdoritang! Just seeing it bubbling away gets the saliva going. The red broth is packed with big chunks of green onion, scallion, and onion — you can feel the heat just by looking at it.
You just simmer it until the vegetables are cooked, then dig in. Waiting for that moment is genuinely exciting haha.

One spoonful of broth and the spicy, deep flavor hits right away — this is genuinely the kind of taste that makes you want a drink, exactly what you'd expect from a Sinyongsan group chicken spot. Pull out a chicken leg and the meat is plump and tender, falling right off the bone — total sweet spot for me. The potatoes and radish have soaked up so much broth too, every bite is packed with flavor.

Paired with plain white rice, it's just the perfect combo. Mix a spoonful of rice into the broth and you can't stop eating. Put a piece of chicken leg meat on top of a spoonful of rice for a big bite — the spicy sauce and rice are a perfect match.

Drinking it with zero-sugar cola, the refreshing finish after the spicy broth kept me coming back for more.

Half fried, half seasoned boneless chicken at Yongsantori
Now for the boneless fried and seasoned chicken, half-and-half! We ordered half seasoned and half fried, and it already looked amazing. The seasoned chicken, dusted with sesame seeds, was glossy and shiny, with a spicy-sweet aroma wafting up that made it impossible to resist. Goes perfectly with beer too.

Take a bite and the outside is crispy while the inside is packed with juice. With that chewy texture plus the sweet-spicy sauce, this boneless chicken has an addictive quality — you just keep eating.

Fried peppers came alongside too, and eating them together cuts through any greasiness for a clean finish.
Is Yongsantori worth it for a Sinyongsan group dinner?
If you want both chicken and a spicy dish for a Sinyongsan gathering, Yongsantori Chicken solves it all in one place. The myeongin bone dakdoritang is perfect as a drinking snack, and the boneless chicken is great for keeping the mood going, so it's worth saving as your go-to Sinyongsan group chicken spot!
The staff were also friendly, making it a comfortable place for a group meal — I think this will be the first place that comes to mind next time I have a gathering!
