Marinated tripe and daechang for home grilling: Ieum set
In short
Ieum Marinated Teukyang and Daechang Grilling Set 200g is a home-grilling meat set from Korea. The teukyang was chewy and nutty, while the daechang was not overly rich for my taste and went well with the seasoning. Verdict: an easy option for drinks at home or camping, as long as you cut the daechang while cooking.

What kind of teukyang and daechang set did I try at home?
I tried Ieum Marinated Teukyang and Daechang Grilling Set 200g because I wanted to eat teukyang (special tripe) and daechang (large intestine) at home. I liked that it was already trimmed and seasoned, so there was less to prepare myself.

They say it is an online product made with the seasoning recipe from a restaurant they operate. I was happy to be able to enjoy the nutty flavor of teukyang and the deep richness of daechang at home.

How were the teukyang texture and the richness of the daechang?
They say the brand selects New Zealand teukyang based on its texture and condition. When I tried it, it was chewy, with a nutty flavor that came through the more I chewed. The daechang was not overly rich for my taste either, and it paired well with the seasoning.

Can both the teukyang and daechang be grilled without cutting them?
The teukyang came trimmed into ready-to-eat pieces, so I did not need to cut it separately with scissors. They say every step is done by hand. Since you simply put it on a grill pan or grill and cook it, preparation was easy.
The key with teukyang was to grill it briefly, for about 6–7 minutes, since it can become tough if cooked too long. Unlike the teukyang, the daechang is grilled whole and then cut into bite-size pieces once it is suitably cooked.

How does the included sauce pair with it?
I also tried the 1seok 2jo sauce that came with the meat seasoning. It was flavorful with the seasoning alone, but the sauce added savory depth to the nutty daechang. I thought it was a good combination to eat with ssam vegetables or use for fried rice at the end.

Would it work as a drinking snack at home or a camping meal?
Because it is trimmed and seasoned, it was a good setup for grilling in a pan or air fryer at home as a drinking snack. It also got a good response when I put it out for friends who came over.
I also thought it would be useful when you want to prepare a grilled item other than samgyeopsal (pork belly) for camping. Just remember that the daechang needs to be cut while grilling, and the teukyang can turn tough if cooked too long.
