Yeouido Singapore-style restaurant with table kiosk: Jeongyun Kitchen
In short
Jeongyun Kitchen is a Singapore-style Asian restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gongjak Sangga in Yeouido, Seoul, about 2 minutes on foot from Exit 1 of Yeouinaru Station. Dining alone at a two-person table, the writer ordered red curry chicken rice and cucumber salad from the table kiosk, and the thin, mild curry with tender chicken tasted clearly different from Korean-style curry. Jeongyun Kitchen is an easy place to take a slow lunch on your own without feeling out of place.

Why Jeongyun Kitchen for a different lunch in Yeouido?
Jeongyun Kitchen is a Singapore-style Asian restaurant on the 2nd floor, Room 206, Gongjak Sangga, 113 Yeouinaru-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's open 11:00–14:00, with last order at 13:30.
I was out near the Yeouido Hangang River area for coffee today, and since it happened to be lunchtime, I started looking for somewhere to eat. I wanted something a bit different from my usual go-to meals, and that's how I found Jeongyun Kitchen.

It's a place where you can try Singapore-style chicken rice, red curry, noodles, and other Asian dishes, so I was curious and went to check it out. If you're looking for a slightly different lunch spot near Yeouinaru Station, this one might be worth a look. It's also close to The Hyundai, so it's a decent option if you're hunting for lunch spots around there too.
How to find Jeongyun Kitchen: 2 minutes from Yeouinaru Station Exit 1
Jeongyun Kitchen is about a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yeouinaru Station. Walk into the Gongjak Sangga building, head up the stairs to the 2nd floor, and you'll find it easily.

There's a poster with food photos posted outside the store, and I personally thought this cute, low-key vibe suited Jeongyun Kitchen well haha.

There's also a waitlist machine set up out front. Yeouido has a lot of offices around, so lunchtime can get busy — if you're heading here for lunch near Yeouinaru Station, it might be worth arriving with a bit of buffer time.

It also seemed like a good stop if you're browsing The Hyundai and want something a little different for lunch.
Inside Jeongyun Kitchen: is it comfortable for solo diners?

Walking into Jeongyun Kitchen, it felt cuter than I expected. The tables, chairs, and even the posters on the wall all had a charming, stylish vibe overall!

I visited alone that day and sat at a 2-person table, and it wasn't awkward eating solo at all. Actually, it was nice to sit comfortably and take my time with lunch. The staff seemed to be chatting easily with each other while working, which made the whole place feel relaxed.

That's why I want to recommend this to anyone looking for a solo-friendly lunch spot near Yeouinaru Station. And in terms of atmosphere, it would suit a date-and-lunch stop near The Hyundai too.
Ordering at the table kiosk
At Jeongyun Kitchen, you order through the kiosk at your table. Waiting for a staff member to take your order can be a bit of a hassle during lunch hour, so being able to browse the menu and order right from your seat was really convenient.

While looking through the kiosk, I also found a guide on 'how to enjoy Singapore chicken the best way.' If it's your first visit, it might be worth reading through it before you eat haha.
Red curry chicken rice: how does it taste?

First up, the red curry chicken rice! What caught my eye first was how thin the curry was. Rather than the thick, hearty texture of Korean-style curry we're used to, this one flows much more smoothly. Because 'red curry' was in the name, I expected it to be quite spicy, but it turned out to be surprisingly mild.
Instead of a sharp spicy kick, you get the flavor of the spices alongside the smooth curry base. It's a clearly different taste from the Korean-style curry I usually eat, which made it fun to eat. I think that's part of why Jeongyun Kitchen makes a good lunch choice near Yeouinaru Station — you get to try something a little special.
The chicken topping and pickled side dishes

And something I personally liked — the chicken! It was much more tender than I expected. Eating the curry, rice, and chicken together, the mild savoriness of the chicken paired really well with the smooth curry. It tastes distinctly different from Korean-style curry, so eating it felt like trying something entirely new.

The pickled side dishes that came with it were also tasty. Eating one in between bites of curry and chicken felt like it refreshed my palate. Rather than eating one flavor the whole time, having the pickles to mix in made a big difference. If you like trying different Asian food, this could be a good addition to your lunch list near Yeouinaru Station.
Cucumber salad and cilantro: a matter of taste

The cucumber salad I ordered alongside was refreshing, tangy, and a little sweet. If you're a cucumber fan like me, it's worth ordering too. It comes with cilantro on top, and the cilantro's distinct aroma layered nicely with the cucumber's freshness.

I'm not actually a huge fan of cilantro, so I ended up picking it out later haha. When I did eat it with the cilantro on, the aroma felt fairly strong in the cucumber salad, but more subtle in the red curry. Cilantro is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it ingredient, so it comes down to personal taste.
Next time at Jeongyun Kitchen: sesame chicken noodles

Since I visited alone this time, I felt a little bad about not being able to order more than one dish. Looking at the menu, I got really curious about the sesame chicken noodles too! If I come back to Jeongyun Kitchen, I'll probably order that next.

If my husband had come with me, we could've ordered two dishes and shared — eating something this good made me think of him a bit haha. Next time I'd like to come together and order the chicken rice and noodles, one of each. If you like places with less common menu options like Jeongyun Kitchen, it seems like a solid candidate for lunch near The Hyundai too.
Is Jeongyun Kitchen worth it for a Yeouido lunch?

What I liked about eating at Jeongyun Kitchen wasn't just the food, but the relaxed atmosphere overall. Even dining alone, it never felt awkward, and it was a good spot to take my time and enjoy the meal before heading out.

When you've gotten a bit tired of the usual Korean food or standard lunch options, trying Asian food like this is a nice change of pace. If the combination of smooth red curry and tender chicken sounds appealing, give Jeongyun Kitchen a try for lunch near Yeouinaru Station. It also pairs well with a trip to The Hyundai Seoul or a walk along the Yeouido Hangang River if you're looking for a place to eat nearby.

Next time, I'm planning to come back with my husband and finally try the sesame chicken noodles I was curious about. :)
