Some days after work you drag your tired body around looking for a really good dinner, right? I was craving meat in particular, so I finally went to a restaurant I'd been curious about for a while. It's near Gangpul Manhwa Street and already famous, so my expectations were high.

Dinner before Cheonho CGV: what's the atmosphere at Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch?
Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch (김숙성 성내점) is an aged Korean pork BBQ restaurant near Gangpul Manhwa Street, close to Cheonho CGV. Tables were set out from the entrance in an outdoor-pub style, and even early in the evening there were already lots of people.
When I opened the door, the lovely smell of meat hit me and got my appetite going. So many people, so my expectations shot up!! I sat down excited to taste their aged meat. We were planning to see a movie at nearby Cheonho CGV, and eating right here first seemed perfect~~~
Which set should you order at Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch?
To get the deep flavor of the 20-day-aged Korean pork, I recommend a set that includes the aged meat. We hesitated between Set 1 and Set 2, both with aged meat, but we were curious about a lot of the side meals, so we decided on the Gim Sukseong Special 2!

The Gim Sukseong Special 2 set came with a generous amount of thick pork neck and aged pork.

20-day-aged Korean pork grilled by the staff: how does it taste?
Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch reportedly uses premium Korean pork that goes through 20 days of both dry aging and wet aging. A staff member put the meat on the grill and started cooking it, and with a pro's touch it really was different. One perfectly cooked piece of meat

went into my mouth, the juices burst out, and the tender texture filled my whole mouth. Good meat tastes like itself even with just a light dip in salt. The moment I tasted it, I understood why people come here, haha.
Side dish picks at Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch: marinated crab rice bowl and perilla oil scallion noodles
We couldn't skip the side dishes full of special flavors either! You can't have meat without sides, after all.

I agonized for a long time. Should I get the spicy mixed noodles that go well with grilled meat? Kimchi stew comes as a basic side dish, but doenjang sul-bap (soybean paste rice) also sounded so good, so should I order that? After all that worrying, I chose two special items you can only get here.

Marinated crab rice bowl: how does it go with aged meat?
I added the marinated crab rice bowl (yangnyeom gejang deopbap) and the perilla oil scallion noodles. They really were the kicker and an excellent choice! The sweet-and-spicy sauce on the crab rice bowl woke up my appetite and was a perfect match for the rich meat. Grilled

meat on top of the rice, and I couldn't stop my spoon.
What do the perilla oil scallion noodles taste like?
The perilla oil scallion noodles weren't harsh at all, with a wonderfully nutty flavor that felt soothing for my stomach. The noodles and perilla oil go so well together, and topped with meat they were a real treat, haha.

Is Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch good for company dinners and dates?
The inside of Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch is comfortable and clean, good for chatting quietly over a meal. The staff kindly grilled the meat, so all I had to do was eat. I could see why it's recommended for company dinners among Cheonho BBQ places. It's close to the station so access is easy, and the opening hours are generous, so visiting any time felt no trouble.

The basic side dishes came out really well too, and with the caring service and quality meat, the whole day's tiredness melted away. Leaving happily full, I promised myself I'd come back with friends. There were tables of friends like us,

plus couples on dates and families having meals, a real mix~! From the aged meat grilled for us to the savory side dishes, I was satisfied with everything. If you want a meal made with care, do visit Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch! Recommended!
