On a gloomy Wednesday I wanted something to boost my stamina, so I stopped by this Homaesil eel spot 🐟 I'd been looking forward to it since booking on Naver, because I heard the restaurant follows the hygiene and cooking philosophy its owner learned in Germany! Since the eel is pre-grilled before the final grilling, you really get that crispy-outside, juicy-inside bite ✨

99Jangeo88 Suwon Homaesil Branch is on the ground floor of the building two doors down from Megabox in Homaesil, and the building has free parking. It's open 10:00–22:00 and closed on Tuesdays.

When you come into Homaesil in Suwon, you'll see the Megabox, right? 99Jangeo88 is on the ground floor of the building two doors down from it, surrounded by lovely greenery 🌴 You can park in the building, so we parked comfortably and headed straight down to the ground floor for some meat ➿

There's also an outdoor terrace, so you can sit out for a bit after your eel! On a nice day, wouldn't it be lovely to step out and sit there after eating ⁉️

Is the inside of 99Jangeo88 good for family gatherings and group dinners?

The inside of 99Jangeo88 seats 40 in total, with standard 4-person tables and tables for up to 8, so it suits family gatherings and company dinners too.

Even once inside, I loved the relaxed atmosphere! The standard tables seat four, so it's comfortable, and with tables for up to eight it's a great-value eel place for company dinners and get-togethers 🐟 I came with my parents, just the three of us, and the 4-person table plus the spacious room made the meal even more comfortable! With 40 seats in total, it's a good space for gatherings too!

At 99Jangeo88, the half salt, half glazed grill is ₩70,000 and the whole-eel salt grill is ₩68,000, and there are lighter options than the grills, like the eel rice bowl at ₩29,000 and eel soup at ₩12,000. We ordered the half salt, half glazed grill so we could taste both.

The half salt, half glazed grill at 99Jangeo88 lets you try both the salt and glazed flavors at once, so I recommend it when you want to taste both. Plus, eel is one of my parents' favorite foods, so this is a restaurant where you score extra filial points when you bring them 🍽️

I'd heard it's a Suwon restaurant recognized on TV for its second-generation touch, so my parents and I had high hopes, and it lived up to them: great look, and the eel was really plump and tasty. Good job ✨ It's just one eel but a generous amount, and best of all it's plump and thick with no fishy smell, which makes it even better!!

The side dishes were varied and tasty too, and enjoying it piece by piece, you get totally hooked on eel 🐟 I already like eel and try to go for it about once a month, but this was seriously so good that it surprised me!

Too heavy for a grill? There's eel soup and eel rice bowl too

I loved getting nicely grilled eel on the grill at a reasonable price at 99Jangeo88!! And it's not just the grills: from eel soup to eel rice bowls, there are plenty of cheaper options if grilled eel feels like too much, which I really liked 🍽️

Above all, eel is delicious wrapped in leaves too, so this is when I load up on vegetables 🌴

On top of that, the eel soup at 99Jangeo88 is delicious too. After the grilled eel, ordering a soup as a side leaves you full and happy, I can't stop thinking how good it is 🍚
