Danppang Bakery (단빵제빵소) is a garlic bread shop at 36 Dojeon 4-gil, Danyang-eup, Danyang-gun, Chungbuk, on the Gugyeong Market side of Danyang. It is open 10:30–21:00, the bread comes out after 10:30, and they close early once the ingredients run out.
It's tasty and good value enough to be called the number one food gift set at Gugyeong Market. For parking, use the public lots around the market. Some are free, like the Danyang Gugyeong Market shared free lot and the Hasang free lot, so keep that in mind.
Why is Danyang garlic bread so famous?
Danppang's garlic bread is made with yukjjok maneul (six-clove garlic), a healthy Danyang specialty 🧄 I wondered why Danyang garlic is so famous, and it turns out the area has lots of ocher-soil fields on limestone terrain, so the garlic is sweeter and deeper in flavor than ordinary garlic. Danppang is the Danyang garlic bread spot proven by many TV appearances 👍

Danppang has a sample counter where you can try every kind of garlic bread. The samples are cut big and piled up so there's plenty, such a generous touch 👏👏 The staff were especially friendly and actively offered samples, so being able to try every kind before buying was really nice.

Of Danppang's four, the writer and her husband's favorite was the sweet potato garlic bread. The other three each had a distinct character too.
