Why I rushed to order extra bouquets for my self-wedding shoot

A real review of my self-wedding bouquets, here we go~! I already had one high-end bouquet of over ₩200,000 booked at a florist, but my studio has a classic feel, and they told me that even if I skip other props, having 2–3 bouquets would be nice. So I scrambled to prepare them just 2–3 days before the shoot...

I had only one day to get ready, so it was really tight, but I found a florist near my home that could do it~! It's Kkocheuldamda Lime (꽃을담다 라임), a florist in Seongnam :)

Pickup time and how to get to Kkocheuldamda Lime

I placed my order at Kkocheuldamda Lime the day before the shoot and arranged to pick it up the next day at closing time, 20:30–21:00. From the underground car park, you take the elevator marked "Lotte Cinema."

Kkocheuldamda Lime on the first floor, so happy to see it that my photo came out blurry.. The day before a shoot is always busy, with so much to pick up and prepare, and I was so grateful the shop stays open this late... sob. Good luck to Kkocheuldamda Lime!

The eucalyptus bunch and lisianthus bunch: how were they when I got them?

The eucalyptus bunch I'd ordered ahead at Kkocheuldamda Lime, the one I wanted so badly to hold and shoot with! Already pretty.. And the lisianthus bunch I prepared as my basic bouquet. Once I had these 2 extra bouquets, I finally felt a little reassured... Too sloppy to call myself a J, too meticulously planned to call myself a P.. (that's MBTI talk, haha)

The picked-up eucalyptus bunch and lisianthus bunch

I bet they'll go so well with the dress. I wondered whether this was really the right way to prepare bouquets, but I told myself that if they're pretty and suit me, that's all that matters, and tried to sleep.. I thought about visiting the Yangjae flower market, but it seemed like too big a physical and mental burden, so I gave up and left it to a professional. Good job, me..

How I stored the bouquets the night before the shoot

As Kkocheuldamda Lime advised, I put them in water in a cool, well-ventilated spot so they'd be fresh for the next day, and went to bed~~~ Please stay fresh, I'm begging you.

Does a eucalyptus bouquet look good in wedding photos?

Looking at the eucalyptus bunch, even I thought, isn't this a bit too much like a bunch of weeds? haha. But I chanted to myself that it would come out pretty in photos, and headed to the studio full of hope. The lisianthus is just so pretty.

The director who took my photos used the eucalyptus bouquet a lot too... All the photos with the eucalyptus came out well, I think, haha. So pretty, right?

Compared with a high-end bouquet

I love all the photos. Now I have to pick my favorites, and the eucalyptus photos look pretty every time I see them~~ I think preparing bouquets to my own taste like this was more satisfying than a high-end bouquet of ₩200,000 or more, and more reasonable in price too.

These days it seems lots of people skip the classic bouquet and go for a lush bunch-style one, called an "arm bouquet" (암부케). If I'd had more time I'd have done a full bunch bouquet, but there's always some regret afterward.. Maybe that's why people say "if I did it again, I could do it better!" T_T Looking back it was fun, and looking back it's a bit of a pity, hahaha. It reminded me of my life motto: always give things my best attitude and effort!

How fresh was the eucalyptus bouquet?

The eucalyptus bunch from Kkocheuldamda Lime stayed fresh even the day after the shoot. My dear eucalyptus... you did everything you were meant to do so well... thank you..

I gave them a reference image and asked for the same lush look, and I was really, really happy with the eucalyptus. I brought plenty along, feeling well covered, haha. Having done it, I think 4 bouquets would've been fine too, lol. But one bouquet that you truly love and that suits you is an absolute must!!

Can you trust Kkocheuldamda Lime with a wedding bouquet?

Kkocheuldamda Lime, on the first floor of the Obelisk shopping complex in Wirye, Seongnam, near Lotte Cinema, seems to get a steady stream of visitors thanks to its sense of color and generously full arrangements. My case is probably a bit unusual, so I couldn't find detailed reviews about wedding bouquets specifically, but the reviews of custom bouquets for parents' birthdays and special anniversaries all seem to be full of praise, with a 100% intention to return, haha.

I think that's because of the careful advance consultation through Naver Talk Talk, so you get fresh flowers that match the mood and budget you want. The owner's friendly service and knack for blending soft, elegant colors give enough confidence to trust them with a wedding shoot or ceremony bouquet, the most important moment in life~~~ If you ever need a bouquet as a gift, do visit Kkocheuldamda Lime, a Wirye, Seongnam florist :)
