All-you-can-eat hot pot in Songdo: Sangsangcheom

In short

Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street Branch is an all-you-can-eat chuanchuan hot pot restaurant in Yeonsu, Incheon. I visited on a weekday evening without a wait and piled up skewers, self-serve dishes, and Geonhui sauce made with sesame sauce. A great pick for choosing exactly the ingredients you want.

After trying chuanchuan hot pot in China, I looked for it in Korea too—and found an all-you-can-eat place in Songdo, so off I went.

Sangsangcheom hot pot, a great Songdo shabu-shabu spot, is on the first floor of Building D at Songdo Triple Street. It is close to Incheon Techno Park Station, so it is easy to visit by public transportation too.

All-you-can-eat prices and ordering

It is all-you-can-eat as standard, while hot pot broth, alcohol, and more can be ordered on a tablet.

At Sangsangcheom hot pot, all-you-can-eat hot pot costs ₩25,900 for weekday lunch and ₩29,900 for weekday dinner, weekends, and public holidays. Chuanchuan hot pot is hot pot where you dip and cook ingredients threaded onto skewers; the beef wrapped around different ingredients was fun and delicious.

Weekday-evening atmosphere and tables

I visited on a weekday evening and did not have to wait, but the restaurant was still busy even on a weekday.

Each table has an induction burner in the middle, and once we chose and ordered the broth and meat, they prepared them right away.

Tongs, plates, scissors, ladles, and more were ready for us.

Self-serve ingredients, from skewers to seafood

The vegetables, meat, and other hot pot ingredients were kept fresh and there was such a wide variety. There were vegetables, noodles, seafood, skewered meats, rice cakes, shrimp balls, and more, so you can take whatever you want.

I also loved that bottled drinks and soft drinks were unlimited, so we could bring back whatever we wanted.

Make-your-own hot pot sauce bar

Geonhui sauce made with sesame sauce

You can make your own sauce, so I made the Geonhui sauce that is trending lately.

  • 1 spoon peanut sauce
  • 2.5 spoons chili sauce
  • 0.5 spoon garlic
  • 0.5 spoon chopped scallion
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon peanut powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil
  • 0.3 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon stir-fried beef sauce

The sauce bar at Sangsangcheom had sesame sauce instead of peanut sauce, so I used that instead. I could not find red pepper powder or sesame seeds, so I left those out. Even so, it was seriously, seriously delicious.

The self-serve section also had mandu (Korean dumplings), guobaorou (sweet-and-sour fried pork), flower buns, and fried foods, so I ate loads of guobaorou too.

Hot pot broth beginning to boil

Adding ingredients to the boiling broth

Once the broth began to boil, I started adding all the ingredients we had brought back. I liked how easy the skewered ingredients were to lift out and eat. I also fished out the unskewered meat with tongs, dipped it with vegetables into the Geonhui sauce, and tucked in properly~

Ice cream after the hot pot meal

There was ice cream too, so I finished neatly with ice cream.

A generous chuanchuan hot pot meal your way

Because it is all-you-can-eat, you can pile up the ingredients you want and enjoy a generous meal your way. I was even more satisfied because I could try as many different skewers and fresh ingredients as I liked; it is great for hot pot fans, or for groups where everyone wants to choose to their own taste, when you want a filling meal.
