Stone-plate jjambbong near Ilsan Beach, Ulsan
I went for this unusual stone-plate jjambbong near Ilsan Beach, where the portions are generous and the food is delicious. They say it is a truly special, proven local favorite that has appeared on several TV programs!!

There is dedicated parking right in front, so parking was easy too^^ There seemed to be room for about eight cars.

I spotted a phrase I absolutely loved! “Even one bowl of jjambbong, like Chanel~” Does that mean they make every bowl with the care of a luxury product? There were candies by the counter too, perfect for a little palate cleanser, right? They also had lots and lots of high chairs. Totally perfect for coming with children!

Daewangam Dol Jjamppong is on a completely different level from the jjambbong and jjajang at a typical Chinese restaurant!! Both the portions and flavor are totally different^^ A place that is a feast for the eyes and the palate~

Spacious seating and a self-service corner
The interior was very spacious, with a range of seating. It is set up with tables and chairs, and the chairs were comfortable. Just sit wherever you like^^* The tables were nicely spaced out, so there was no discomfort at all while eating ㅇㅅㅇ

The self-service corner was very well set up too. Rice was free, and there were danmuji (yellow pickled radish), onions, green onion kimchi, and chunjang (black bean paste)! Take as much as you will eat, then go back for more if you want~

Four people can come and order a medium, or two people can come and order a large. Just order the amount you want without feeling self-conscious! Go ahead and order comfortably~~

Stone jjambbong spice levels and our order
Let’s look at the menu. There are so many options, including stone jjambbong and stone jjajang~ You can adjust the jjambbong spice level! There are three choices: mild (Shin Ramyun level), slightly spicy, and spicy.

- Large mild stone jjambbong (3 servings)
- Handmade dontang set
- Pomegranate ade
- Soft drink
They also have a Naver review event, so be sure to try it:) You can choose either pomegranate or green grape ade, and we ordered the pomegranate ade!

Large stone jjambbong with generous sprouts and seafood
The visuals are the real deal, right? Since this was the large stone jjambbong, the portion was enormous^^ As soon as it arrived, we were asking each other, “Can we really finish all this?” haha

It comes with such a generous mound of bean sprouts, so make sure to stir it well before eating:) The sprouts had the best crunch. So much squid and shrimp too! You could clearly see that they do not skimp on ingredients, which made me even happier^^

Because it came on a stone plate, the heat was amazing~ Being able to eat it warm right to the end may be its biggest advantage! The key is its stir-fried feel rather than lots of broth, plus that full smoky wok flavor. I loved how thoroughly the noodles were cooked through:) They were bouncy and chewy, with the seasoning soaked in perfectly—so good.
There were so many shrimp in the stone jjambbong, and they were plump, incredibly tender, and wonderfully moist! Full-on savory flavor~ We all fell headfirst for the shrimp^^

Pomegranate ade, handmade dontang, and scorched rice to finish
This was the pomegranate ade we received through the review event. The pomegranate settles at the bottom, so stir it well before drinking:) It was so cool and tangy—such a refreshing feeling in the mouth!

The handmade dontang was like pork cutlet or tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork)—it was huge, perfectly crisp outside and tender inside. It was packed full of meat:) It was even more delicious with onion on the side; dip it lightly in the sauce and yum yum.

Nurungji (scorched rice)! There was nurungji left for the finish! You have to eat the scorched rice at the bottom of the fiery jjambbong too, haha.

At the end, just scrape up the scorched rice and enjoy it. It was wonderfully nutty and moist, with the seasoning soaked in beautifully. The flavor was not too strong or overly stimulating, which I loved:)

There are high chairs, so coming with kids is OK, and they have desserts ready too! There is also a microwave for convenient use~ If you come with a child, it would be great for warming baby food. I picked up dessert to finish: yogurt and old-fashioned rice gangjeong snacks. They were not overly sweet and reminded me of Joripong cereal! The crunch was absolutely the best.
