Pohang Songdo ocean-view restaurant for a meal with a baby: Plan A

Plan A Restaurant is meaningful to us — it's where my now-husband and I, then boyfriend and girlfriend, had our first date haha! So much time has passed, and now we've come back with our baby. Back then we sat awkwardly across from each other eating in silence, and now the three of us sit together while I feed our baby during the meal, lol. If you're looking for a date spot around Songdo or a place to eat pasta with an ocean view, this might be worth checking out.

Where Plan A Restaurant is and where to park

Plan A Restaurant is right in front of Songdo Beach in Pohang. It's on the 4th floor of a GS building, so you just go in and head up. Since it's directly across from Songdo Beach, you get a full view of the sea as soon as you walk in. If you're looking for an ocean-view restaurant in Pohang, this location is hard to beat.

For parking, you can use the street right in front of the restaurant or the public parking lot behind it.

The 4th-floor ocean view over Songdo Beach

Once you're seated on the 4th floor, Songdo's sea opens up right through the floor-to-ceiling windows! Since the building sits right on the water, the view is wide open with no cramped feeling at all. Visiting during the day especially, eating while looking out at the blue sea makes for a really nice atmosphere. If you want a window seat, I'd recommend booking ahead.

What the family of three ordered, plus baby dishware

The menu is broadly organized into steak, pasta, rice, salad, and sides. Since there were three of us — including our baby — we ordered three dishes with that in mind.

I love rosé pasta, so the moment I saw it on the menu I knew I had to order it haha. The tangy tomato sauce and the smooth cream were mixed in just the right balance, so overall it was reliably delicious. There was shrimp mixed in too, and eating the noodles together with the shrimp was really good.

Today was our baby's first-ever pasta tasting day...! Since it was their very first time trying pasta, I worried they might not eat it, but it must have suited their taste — they kept reaching for more, to the point where mom and dad barely had enough left for ourselves lol.

How does the mushroom basil cream risotto taste?

True to its name, the mushroom basil cream risotto had a subtle mushroom and basil aroma in a creamy base. Being cream-based, it was soft and pleasant to eat, offering a different feel from the pasta. The basil flavor wasn't too strong, so even people who aren't big basil fans could probably enjoy it without much worry.

PLAN B 120g ordered without the chili oil

We ordered PLAN B without the chili oil so our baby could eat it too! It's 120g for ₩22,000. If you're a meat lover, ordering a steak dish like this alongside pasta instead of just pasta alone seems like a good call. Since there were three of us, we went with pasta + risotto + meat, and the menu combination worked out really well.

Good for a date, good for a family meal with a baby

Plan A Restaurant's biggest strength has to be eating a meal while looking out at Songdo's sea. You can enjoy the ocean view during the meal and then walk toward Songdo Beach afterward. It was a great early-dating spot for us like it once was, works well for couples wanting to set a mood together after a while, and felt just as easy-going as a family outing with a child.
