Bucheon jokbal restaurant with original small size for two: Kkalkkali
In short
Kkalkkali Jokbal Bucheon Branch is a jokbal (Korean braised pig's trotters) restaurant between Bucheon Station Exit 3 and Bucheon University in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, and the newest branch after the Mok-dong flagship and the Hongdae direct branch. Two people ordered the small original jokbal at 34,000 won and ate indoors while watching baseball, and an opening event added a free fruit makguksu (chilled buckwheat noodles). The jokbal was soft and chewy with no gamey smell, so Kkalkkali Jokbal Bucheon Branch is worth booking for a group meal or work dinner near Bucheon Station.

Kkalkkali Jokbal, located roughly halfway between Bucheon Station Exit 3 and Bucheon University!

Opening event: free fruit makguksu and 3,000 won off takeout
Kkalkkali Jokbal Bucheon Branch is a new chain location following the Mok-dong flagship and the Hongdae direct branch, so as an opening event they give you a free fruit makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) when you order jokbal !!! Jokbal with makguksu is basically a must-pair, and getting it free is the best hahaha.

There's also a ₩3,000 discount on takeout orders, so if you're eating at home, takeout is recommended!!

Indoor seats with outdoor-tent vibes and a self-serve drinks fridge
The place is so open that even sitting indoors in this kind of weather, you get that outdoor-tent (yajang) feeling, and there are outdoor tables too!!

I sat indoors to watch baseball haha. Oh, and drinks and alcohol are self-serve — just grab them from that fridge!

Since it's newly opened, it feels even cleaner and tidier! The interior design was neat, which I liked haha.

There were customers who came in baseball uniforms, and also college groups here for a get-together haha. Seems like a great spot for gatherings or work dinners.

We ordered the Kkalkkali Jokbal (Original) small at ₩34,000 and a Coke at ₩2,000.
Side dishes and bean sprout soup
The side dishes came out right after ordering. Dried radish strips, pickled onions, salted shrimp with ssamjang (dipping sauce), peppers and garlic, and lettuce with chive salad were all set out. Beautifully arranged ദ്ദി( ¯꒳¯ ) haha.

And when I eat jokbal, my favorite thing is pairing it with dried radish strips, and theirs are seriously delicious… T T

And of course there has to be soup right?! They also give you bean sprout soup, and it genuinely makes you want a drink... satisfaction levels up even before the jokbal arrives lol.

Is the small original jokbal enough for two people?
The small original jokbal at Kkalkkali Jokbal Bucheon Branch is ₩34,000, and the portion was generous enough that the two of us ate hard and still had a little left over. They boil fresh Korean pork trotters daily and sell same-day, which made me even more excited haha.
The jokbal has arrived...♡ Exactly the flavor you'd hope for !!!! Chewy and tender jokbal through and through. My friend said it felt like a collagen refill lol.

We ordered the small size but doesn't it look like a huge portion? We ate hard as two people and still left a little bit ㅠㅠ It's so good that even full, we kept eating lol.

They're apparently known for their fried jokbal, but today I was craving something classic so we ordered the original — and the original is also amazing ㅠㅠ

Sometimes you get jokbal places with tough meat, but here it's all soft and chewy with no off-putting texture, and I heard the broth includes medicinal herbs, which definitely makes a difference?! No gamey smell at all left. That said, it doesn't taste like herbal medicine either — just a savory depth, which I liked haha.

I picked up a big piece of jokbal, cut it with chopsticks, and wrapped it in lettuce haha. Meat really is best eaten wrapped like this //

The free fruit makguksu that came with the jokbal
The complimentary makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) has arrived !!! I mean, isn't it plated so beautifully?

The makguksu is totally tangy-sweet, which pairs perfectly with jokbal haha. It's that trusted combo you never get tired of — you just keep eating?! They even gave us plastic gloves so we could toss the noodles freely !! The visuals were insane haha, I want to eat it again...
