Nowon sushi buffet weekday dinner: Shanghai pasta & beer at Kuu Kuu

My partner and I went to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch (쿠우쿠우 노원점)! I hadn't been in a while, and the quality has gotten even better ✨✨ It's not just sushi: rolls, salad, pasta, meat, fried food, desserts too!! It's a buffet where you can try a bit of everything, which was really fun 😎 Here's my review~

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch weekday dinner: is it worth reserving?

We visited Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch for a weekday dinner, and since I wanted to eat comfortably without waiting, I even booked ahead ✌🏻 The staff were really kind, the restaurant is spacious, and the ingredients were fresh, so I was happy with it overall 🥹

How to get to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is on the Hagye side rather than right in front of Nowon Station! By public transport, take Line 7 to Hagye Station, come out of Exit 2 and look for the Seoul Oncheon building. The restaurant is on the 6th floor, and the elevator makes it an easy ride up.

The first thing I noticed when we walked in was how much bigger the place is than I expected 🫢 At a buffet you're constantly walking back and forth for food, so a cramped space is quietly annoying... but Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has plenty of room, so it was comfortable. There are tables in several areas, so it looked fine for families or a big group of friends too 👍🏻

What I personally liked was how kind the staff were..🤍 A buffet is busy, with lots of customers and lots of food to tidy and keep stocked, right? Even so, the staff were so friendly that the first impression was great 🥹

The food is set out in lots of different zones, so it was fun to walk a full lap and see what was on offer 🤤

It's not a place where you just eat sushi and leave. I think the biggest strength of Kuu Kuu is that you can pick from all kinds of food to suit your taste 🫶🏻

Sushi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch: what did we eat?

As soon as we sat down, we went off to get food haha I started with salad~ Let me introduce what we ate one by one!

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is centered on sushi and rolls, with a wide range of other dishes, so there were really a lot of choices 👍🏻🤍

I liked that I could pile salmon, tuna, shrimp and more onto one plate 🫪💕 The salmon sushi was soft and rich, and the tuna sushi had a clean, light taste that I loved 👍🏻 From red-fleshed fish to shrimp-topped sushi, each had a slightly different texture and flavor, so I never got tired of it ><

Best of all, there's so much to eat besides sushi that you can have a few plates of sushi and then enjoy other dishes too 🩷

Warm dishes beyond sushi: cream pasta, Shanghai pasta and meat

This time at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch I filled a plate with things a bit different from sushi! Cream pasta, meat, grilled dishes and more.. After eating only sushi, adding warm dishes in the middle made the meal much more varied 😋 The cream pasta had a smooth sauce that coated the noodles well and tasted rich, and the dishes with seafood or mushrooms felt like they gained flavor from the ingredients!

The meat is hearty, so it's good with rice or tucked between other dishes haha That's the charm of a buffet: Korean, Japanese and Western food all in one place 😊 Even if one person loves sushi and another loves meat or pasta, everyone can choose what suits them, I thought 🤔

This plate had Shanghai pasta, salad, meat and more. The tomatoes and salad alongside were also nice for refreshing the palate between rich or heavy dishes. It's fun to put lots of different things on one plate, so I think it suits people who like trying a bit of everything!

I liked that besides sushi there are salads and all kinds of dishes, so one meal can be so varied 🤍 At a buffet it's a letdown if there's a long menu but nothing you actually want to eat, but Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has plenty to choose from to suit your taste~
