Songjeong tea café for beach train photos: Suwolgyeonghwa, Busan

On a recent trip to Busan, I visited Suwolgyeonghwa, a Songjeong café with a view of the beach train.

What kind of café is Suwolgyeonghwa in Songjeong?

I found Suwolgyeonghwa while searching for cafés near Gijang and Songjeong. Turns out this Songjeong café is already famous in Busan — a leading tea café that's appeared on multiple broadcasts and even made the Blue Ribbon Survey.

Parking and how to find Suwolgyeonghwa

The 1st-floor parking lot in the building is on the small side, with double parking... when it's full, use Kakao parking lots or nearby paid lots like Songjeong Pureun Parking Lot (no support provided). Songjeong Beach is right in view, along with the beach train tracks.

Climbing all the way up to the 4th floor was a bit much, but the interior atmosphere made up for it — a serenity that made me think, wait, is this really Busan?

Which teas does Suwolgyeonghwa blend?

Suwolgyeonghwa is a leading tea café in Songjeong, Busan, blending its own teas — which you can also buy separately. I don't really brew tea at home so I didn't buy any, just browsed haha. It'd make a great gift, though.

It was cloudy, but I'd come for the sea-plus-train view — and this place has been featured in the Blue Ribbon Survey for two years running. I liked it even more knowing they use fresh, high-quality tea leaves sourced directly from some of Korea's best tea gardens, alongside their own blends.

My nephew who came along absolutely loves trains! Haha. The beach train, a famous Busan tourist attraction, kept passing by and made for such great photos. It ran fairly often throughout the day, and every time it passed we went into an endless photo-taking frenzy lol.

The menu and how to order at Suwolgyeonghwa

I could even watch the process of the tea being brewed. Suwolgyeonghwa doesn't only serve tea — there's American-style coffee like Americano, gabaeore (their take on a café latte), non-coffee drinks, and traditional beverages like jujube tea, ginger tea, sweet rice punch, and sujeonggwa (cinnamon persimmon punch). The menu is varied enough that even people who don't like tea don't need to worry. You take the menu to look over and order at the counter — the descriptions on the menu were clear enough that it wasn't confusing at all.

Hyeonwolhoji tea, served cold

Since this café is all about tea, I ordered one too — hyeonwolhoji tea, cold (contains a small amount of caffeine). There are so many types of tea, and after smelling a few I picked this one — a moderately bitter, sweet flavor that satisfied me. The tea was presented so beautifully 🫖🍶 By the way, the leaf floating on top... don't eat it lol, it's decoration, not food.

What's in the Dalbodeure dessert box?

We also ordered Suwolgyeonghwa's signature dessert, the Dalbodeure dessert box, which came with five items — just enough for a taste of each (financier, black rice bread, monaka, injeolmi skewers, and more). This box is such a great way to enjoy Suwolgyeonghwa — make sure you order it too 🍡🥮

Even people trying tea for the first time can enjoy it comfortably, thanks to the range of tea-based drinks and the Korean desserts that pair so well with them.

3rd floor or 4th floor: where should you sit?

I only found out about the 3rd floor space later on. Order first, then definitely go check it out! If the 4th floor is mainly a row of window-facing seats, the 3rd floor has separated seating and a calmer atmosphere.

The beach train really does pass right in front of you. If the weather had been better, the view would have been even prettier 🌊🚂

Personally, I liked the lower floor even more! The bar seats facing the sea and the floor seating went perfectly with drinking tea. It was such a nice place to enjoy a quiet café moment and the sea at the same time — Suwolgyeonghwa, a Songjeong café in Busan.
