Dalmaji-gil Chinese restaurant vs Marine City branch: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a European-style Chinese restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. To compare the two branches, the writer ordered exactly what they had eaten at the Marine City branch — poached-egg five-layer pork jjajang (black bean noodles) at 10,000 won, beef belly jjamppong rice (spicy seafood soup over rice) at 12,000 won and black vinegar sirloin sweet and sour pork at 28,000 won — and while the jjajang and the pork were satisfying, the jjamppong rice tasted nothing like the Marine City version and was left almost untouched after one bite. Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is worth a visit for its atmosphere and easy access more than for the food.

If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, give this place a try! It's a European-style Chinese restaurant with a lot of atmosphere. Let me introduce Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch.
Honestly... I can't really call it a must-eat spot. I loved the Marine City branch so much I visited the Haeundae branch again, but even under the same brand, the difference was huge. Still, the vibe was great haha;;;

Where is Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, and where do you park?

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is near Exit 9 of Jangsan Station, sitting right on Dalmaji-gil.
- Elysium Haeundae & Signiel Busan: 1.3 km, 5 minutes
- Haeundae Beach: 2.9 km, 8 minutes
- Songjeong Beach: 4.8 km, 8 minutes
There's an in-building parking lot, and if it's full you'll need to park on the surrounding streets. That said, the area isn't too congested, so it wasn't hard to get to by car!
Opening hours and the afternoon break at Bueokgan Chinese

Open every day from 11am to 9pm with no closed days, but there's a break time in between, so check before you go.
Inside the 165㎡ space: Chinese restaurant, dining room and bakery café in one

A spacious, roughly 165㎡ (50-pyeong) space with sleek, clean interior design. Bueokgan branches really seem to nail their interiors. Table spacing was decent too, and the atmosphere makes it popular for dates.
What makes the Haeundae branch special is that it's a combined F&B space running Chinese dining, a restaurant, and a bakery café all together. With multiple Bueokgan outlets in one building, you can handle a meal and coffee in the same place.
What we ordered at Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, and the prices

Ordering is easy via the tablet at the table. We ordered the exact same dishes we'd had before at the Marine City branch.
- Poached egg five-layer pork jjajang (black bean noodles) - ₩10,000
- Beef belly jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) rice - ₩12,000
- Black vinegar sirloin sweet and sour pork - ₩28,000
It's just the right amount for two people, a basic lineup, but also the combination that gave us the most satisfaction.
Poached-egg five-layer pork jjajang (black bean noodles), 10,000 won

Same dish, same brand, but each branch has its own feel. The poached egg five-layer pork jjajang is one of the signature dishes at this Haeundae Chinese restaurant.
The thick five-layer pork belly and the poached egg you burst open make the sauce, which could otherwise be a bit dry, feel much smoother — that's the appeal. It's not too salty and lets the natural flavor of the ingredients shine, which I think older diners would enjoy too.
Black vinegar sweet and sour pork, and the jjamppong rice we left behind

The sweet and sour pork looked like an unusually generous portion. The sauce, made with Chinese black vinegar, gives it a deeper, richer flavor. The batter was thick and properly crispy — there's a real charm to eating it sauce-soaked.
I don't know what happened with the jjamppong that day, but it tasted completely different from what we had at the Marine City branch... I took one bite and pretty much left the rest T_T Might need some quality checking.
Who should visit Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch on Dalmaji-gil?
With its pretty interior and great atmosphere, the place was packed even on a weekday lunch. It's also conveniently located near Haeundae, so if you're a fan of the Bueokgan brand, it's worth a visit at least once.
