Busan Station Chinese course lunch with yusanseul: Jangchunhyang

In short

Jangchunhyang is a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor along the Chinatown street by Busan Station in Dong-gu, Busan, open all day with no break time. At a window seat, the writer had the lunch special course A for 15,000 won per person (minimum 2 people): yusanseul (seafood and vegetables in a glossy white sauce), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), gochujapchae (stir-fried pepper and pork) with steamed flower buns, then jjajangmyeon or jjamppong, with nothing to fault. The writer ranks Jangchunhyang's yusanseul the best they have eaten in recent years and vows to return.

I really love Chinese food, so I'm always hunting down good Chinese restaurants. Jangchunhyang (장춘향), the Chinese restaurant in Busan Station's Chinatown that I visited this time, had nothing lacking, from the taste to the price to the atmosphere!!! It's been a long time since I thought, "This place is seriously good! I'm definitely coming back!" So I'm writing this review with a fluttering heart, haha

Where is Jangchunhyang and what are its hours?

Jangchunhyang is at 9 Jungang-daero 179beon-gil, Dong-gu, Busan, 2nd floor, Room 201, inside the Chinatown street by Busan Station. It's 97 m from Exit 1 of Busan Station (Line 1), and it's open Mon-Sun 10:30-21:00 (last order 20:30).

Jangchunhyang is on the Chinatown street near Busan Station, so it was really easy to find! Walk along the street lined with red lantern decorations and you'll see the restaurant on the 2nd floor. The standing sign at the entrance says there's no break time either, so you can drop by whenever you like! No break time, I love it ❤️

Inside Jangchunhyang: spacious hall, round-table rooms and Chinatown-view window seats

Seating and round-table room inside Jangchunhyang

Going up to the 2nd floor and stepping inside, Jangchunhyang was more spacious and pleasant than I expected! Besides the neatly kept hall tables, there were private round-table rooms further in, perfect for group dinners or family gatherings.

We took a seat by the window, and the exotic Chinatown street spread out below us in one view, so it felt like eating on a trip to China >.<

How much is Jangchunhyang's lunch course A? 15,000 won per person

Jangchunhyang's lunch special course A can be ordered for 2 or more people and costs ₩15,000 per person. Looking through the menu, we ordered lunch special course A because it looked like great value! A Chinese course for just ₩15,000 a head, isn't that price amazing?

Yusanseul: the best I've had in years

The first dish in course A was yusanseul (seafood and vegetables in a glossy starch-thickened sauce)! It was glistening just to look at, and the moment I took a bite I couldn't help saying "Wow!"!!!

Yusanseul, the first dish of course A at Jangchunhyang

It wasn't harsh, just moderately sweet, with savory depth filling my mouth, like the yusanseul we all know but with an extra kick!!!

Jangchunhyang yusanseul with seafood and mushrooms

The seafood and mushrooms were so tender and blended so well that I scraped the bottom of the plate clean with a spoon, hahaha

A spoonful of Jangchunhyang yusanseul

I really didn't leave a single drop of sauce! I can say for sure it was the best yusanseul I've had in the past few years 👍

Tangsuyuk: tender, refined sweet and sour pork with no gamey smell

Tangsuyuk, the second dish of course A at Jangchunhyang

The second dish in course A, tangsuyuk (Korean sweet and sour pork), looked delicious from the very first glance!

Tenderly fried tangsuyuk at Jangchunhyang

It was fried just right all the way through, so it was nutty and delicious. The batter wasn't overly hard or tough, and the meat chewed so tenderly! Best of all, there was none of that typical pork gaminess, which made me very happy!

It tasted like tangsuyuk from a high-end hotel Chinese restaurant! The sauce was good too, so kids and adults alike would love it with no hit-or-miss!

Gochujapchae with flower buns: addictive seasoning at its best

The gochujapchae (stir-fried peppers and pork strips) and flower buns that came next were the highlight of Jangchunhyang's lunch special course!

The seasoning is definitely on the bold side, but it isn't overwhelming, and you get an intense, addictive kick that's deliciously strong.

Wrapping gochujapchae in a flower bun

It's salty with the smoky wok aroma of chili oil, and when you wrap it in a fluffy, mild flower bun, you know what I mean???? It's just plain amazing!!! This gochujapchae was even great eaten together with the tangsuyuk from earlier!

The main: jjajangmyeon or jjamppong

The last step of course A is a choice between jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) ✔️

We ordered one of each and happily shared!

Jjajangmyeon and jjamppong are a nice, clean way to finish!

Is Jangchunhyang's lunch course A worth a return visit?

From the yusanseul to the tangsuyuk, gochujapchae, and the jjajang and jjamppong for the meal, I enjoyed everything at Jangchunhyang, the Chinese restaurant near Busan Station, with nothing to complain about! For an unbelievable ₩15,000 per person, I got to enjoy a full Chinese course, and I was happy the whole time!
