Choryang-dong noodle shop lunch, small vs large mul milmyeon

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap (영동밀면&돼지국밥) is a long-running milmyeon (cold wheat noodle) and dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup) restaurant in Choryang-dong, Dong-gu, Busan, a 3-minute walk from Exit 7 of Busan Station. The writer stopped in for lunch near a friend's office and ordered small and large mul milmyeon (cold noodles in broth) plus handmade dumplings, and an order mix-up brought out dwaeji gukbap first. Verdict: the small mul milmyeon at Yeongdong Milmyeon is a little light for a woman's appetite, but with the handmade dumplings on the side it was just right.

Busan pork galbi at the end of Galbi Alley: Choryang Hyeongje Galbi

Choryang Hyeongje Galbi (초량형제갈비) is a pork galbi restaurant at the very end of Choryang Galbi Alley in Dong-gu, Busan. Staff grilled the domestic marinated pork galbi (₩12,000) at the table, and the scallion kimchi (pa-kimchi) served alongside was the best the writer had ever eaten, so good that it led to overeating, before a ₩3,000 doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) to finish; the scallion kimchi is also sold separately for ₩15,000. For sweet marinated pork galbi with outstanding scallion kimchi, Choryang Hyeongje Galbi is a great choice.
