Friend-recommended Dongnae brunch café: ragu rigatoni, Sasaenghwal

Today I visited Sasaenghwal (사생활), a famous Western brunch café in Dongnae 🤍 I'm going to tell you about a truly good restaurant that got the approval of my food-expert friend 〰️😙 I went through a nice opportunity, but I'll give you my honest review!

Sasaenghwal opening hours and parking

Sasaenghwal is open daily 11:00–21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 16:30 and last order at 20:00. There's no parking lot of its own, so use the Dongyeong public parking lot (paid). If you register your parking ticket, you get 1 hour free >_<

If you're driving, I recommend making sure to check whether your parking has been registered after your meal 〰️ 🤍

Where is Sasaenghwal in Dongnae and what does it look like outside?

If you're looking for a charming date course near Dongnae Station, or a place for a family meal out, you should definitely stop by Sasaenghwal 🥹

My friend said it's a place they visit often, which made me even happier haha 〰️ Sasaenghwal is on the second floor, inside an alley a little way from Dongnae Station, hehe!

It's a Western restaurant, but the classy decorative objects were so nicely placed that they caught my eye ☺️

The interior is built around wood tones, and the calm, upscale mood stood out. It has a good-vibes atmosphere that's a safe bet for any gathering 😙

The classy objects are placed so well that I came for a meal and my mood got better too. Two birds, one stone..😋

The tables are spaced generously, and it was packed with customers from early in the morning 〰️😙 I'd recommend reserving for Sasaenghwal on weekends >_<

What we ordered at Sasaenghwal

We ordered rigatoni pasta with ragu sauce, the Gamdong Katsu four-cut katsu (pork cutlet) platter, and the Harmonious Saenghwal Tea Ade (zero-sugar apricot grapefruit lemon flavor) 〰️ 😍

Zero-sugar Saenghwal Tea Ade

The ade is a drink, so it comes out first. These days I don't really drink sweet drinks (blood sugar spikes make me sleepy… 😭). But since it's zero sugar, I could drink it without worrying, which was nice.

Then the food came out, and doesn't it look so delicious?? 😭🤤

How does Sasaenghwal's ragu rigatoni taste?

The moment I took a bite of the rigatoni at Sasaenghwal, the rich ragu flavor hit me ..🤤 I've been hooked on ragu since I had a delicious lasagna in Ulsan, and I was more satisfied than I expected haha

The savory depth of the meat and tomato blends well, so it's hearty yet smooth!! Piling plenty of sauce onto the chewy rigatoni made it mellow and soft, which I loved haha

How was the Gamdong Katsu four-cut platter?

Sasaenghwal's Gamdong Katsu is a classic tonkatsu, crispy outside and juicy inside ✨ With four cuts, you get to enjoy different parts of the pork.

I'd been eating the pasta first, so I started on it a little late, but the crunchy coating was still alive, which made it even better. This place can really cook… 🥹

The cheese katsu especially, with cheese that stretches out along the grain, was the highlight 😭 As a cheese lover I enjoyed it so much. Nutty cheese plus juicy meat is the best combo…. Eating it with the sauce that came alongside, I never got tired of it and kept reaching for more 😋

Is Sasaenghwal a good date spot in Dongnae?

I hear the other dishes are good too, so run over for a Dongnae date 〰️ If you're looking for a Dongnae date course, I 🤍strongly recommend🤍 Sasaenghwal, the Western brunch café in Dongnae!!!
